Anyone spotted the Xbox-360 demonstration models in stores yet?

As above, was told by a friend in the trade that demo units are due to hit selected GAME stores this week and also at some other major outlets. Sadly there seems to be no official word one when and were the demo units will be on display so I am relying on al you guys and gals to keep me informed!

Oh btw, anyone buying (pre-order) games for X360 should head over to play.com, they are offering much better discounts on games and peripherals than anyone else I have seen so far.

Yeah I pre-ordered, I just want to find a shop that has the demo units up and running so I can go down and have a play with it for an hour.

I was reading on another forum, that alot of the demo unit aren't set up properly, they aren't set up for HDTV and the image quality of the demo units is suffering for it. Also the demo units, aren't using the final code and are using bilinear texture filtering instead of trilinear and therefore also producing a low quality image. Bit of a shame microsoft are letting people see the console in this unfinished state

Yeah agreed BUT if that is the price to be paid for getting the console out 5-12 months ahead of the PS3 then it had to be done. The first generation of games were never going to be anything uber anyway but take PGR3 as example, more polygons on one car than there was in an entire level of PGR2. The graphical level just went up several notches from the previous generation and we have barely scraped the surface, just look at Call of Duty 2 running in 720p, it looks every bit as good as a PC running at 1680x1050 and in all honesty how many PC's are capable of running CoD2 in that resolution at 60fps? It makes me drool to think of what the 3d and 4th gen titles are going to look like, after all that is really how long it takes for developers to get used to new hardware.

Yep and Jaffa who played the console in manchester was playing on an LCD via scart, not HDTV at all. No wonder it looks washed out to hell and grainy.
