Anyone know of places for reasonably priced laptop repairs?

Hi there

I recently bought myself an Apple Mac G3 Pizmo laptop for the bargain price of 50 squids. The only problem being that it has a cracked screen, it boots up and the like and works fine but after being on for a while the screen starts to leak crystals.

As this cost so little I figured i'd jump at the chance to buy it and if it couldn't be fixed I wouldn't have lost out on that much.

I was wondering if any of you expert folk know of anywehre around the london area who repairs Mac laptops? I'm hoping to find somewhere that can hopefully supply a screen off a similar model with maybe a broken hard-drive/keyboard etc.

Anyway what do you think should i persevere and try and find somewhere who wont charge an arm or a leg? or dump the bugger in the bin?

I guess it's not still under warranty because Apple are pretty good at replacement and repair stuff.

Your best bet is to ring Apple UK up themselves and see what they advise. Tech support UK's number is 0870 876 0753 be aware that you'll have to pay for the call unless you're covered by an Applecare warranty.

Either way you'll end up having to pay for the cost of the screen and repair, you're certainly looking at at least £200 minimum.
