i was hired by an agency and started working june 4th.
i emailed the woman in charge of the contract to see how much i will get paid. she said this week (12th) i will get paid for x, which was fair enough.

thing is ive not been paid and im assuming i should of been because she said i would get paid for x.

no one is there now to contact about it so i wont hear untill monday. im also supposed to work tonight and tomorrow night, but what then? im keeping track of my hours but i have no condfidence i will get any money.

is it just the standard contract law malarky or is there some employment specific stuff to help me?

Different bank then the office uses?

If so, it might take two days to payment to go through(in finland sometimes does), and it it's smackdown i the middle of the weekend(as it would be in your case), the payment wouldn't come before monday.

Did you speak to someone at the Agency or where you're working? Are you being paid by the Agency or directly by the people you're working for? What Agency is it?

What is pay day?

Is it your first week? You may get paid for the first week next week and so on

Normally with contract work you go through an agency which will invoice the client (your employer proper) and then either you go through all the malarky of doing the tax yourself or pay someone to do it for you (umbrella company). It's probably just because it's your first week, pay is often done one period behind for whatever reasons.

Agency staff usually get paid at the end of the 2nd week for the 1st week, 3rd week for the 2nd week etc etc, this will mean when you leave your placement you will get paid for your last week a week after you quit. Regardless of whether your placement has paid your agency. The invoicing is generally done separately to payroll.
