Any use for Savage nowdays in rvr?

Missing daoc and all the friendly people, now to my question.

Is there still many people playing? and in rvr to people use Savages still?

I was thinking with the lack of charge and no BL maybe hard to be of any use.

They are still the best light tank damage wise and with purge3+ decent Det CC would't be a too big problem I guess, but the lack of banelord hurts :<

well, savs are stil very viable imo,
and the lack of bl isnt so bad as some would like to make it out to be imo..
just use 1 sav and 1 zerk.. what husrts is that they took away det, dr, dodger, without really giving us anything in return..and no charge really hurts, heh even vamps get charge..and the only reason mythic will give is "design desision." the rr5 abil bliss is nice, but it only lasts 15 secs and is really only usefull when you have melee train on you, at wich time most of your grp will be dead anyway.! but for solo/duo's it's nice.!

basicly here's a savs roll in fg v fg fight....

get mezzed, use purge, go near a caster/support class, get grappled, get stunned get nuked.! fun for all

One savage in a group is still an asset, but mostly zerkers are preferred because of aforementioned reasons.

what i do find funny tho is some people, this is often not the fotm's but the wannabe fotm's will take a rr2 zerk over a say rr5++ savage, this imo is utter stupidity..in of the otherway around ofc..never understood this tbh.!

remember one morning at mtk were i had a seriouse disc. with a GL,
basicly the choice was either an un-toa'd rr2 sav or we could take rolf a rr8 thane fully toa'd..needles to say i wanted rolf..gl and grp told me i was a clueless noob and was told to basicly shut it, at last i gave up...ok we run out, we meet a hib grp at mmg, we get wiped "no assist from a sav with det2 or so..group disbands..45 mins wasted at mtk.. i port back sit down and watch kill spams from ? yes you guessed it rolf & mont..! who had made a mini grp..

a rr2 zerker who is well kitted will be a banelord and have charge ableit on a 15 min timer is beter than a savage by a long way, why? he has the banelord interupts, demorilisation etc etc and is uncc'able every 15 mins.

Opposed to purge 2 and most likely a couple passives

rolf doesnt assist either but only difference would be he could finish what he started cus of rr

savage with det5/purge3 would be as good or better than a zerker with charge2/3 i think. charge aint always up and doesnt last long, but if u can buy it u do ofc :wub:

det5 is pretty much useless anyway, just purge st roots vs good groups. Randoms will allways break cc anyway.

on paiper maybe yes chron, but in reality thats seldom the case,
in my experiance rr has alot to say, also a high rr cha, if we exclude ebayed ones ofc, often know thier cha's strenghts and weaknesses and are often more cunning, stay alive longer assist/ma better knows when to use/do what in a given situation ,ect ect.. so yes given the choice between a rr5 sav and a rr2 zerk in a pick up group i'd take the sav.

rr5 isnt high, and in NF rr means nothing in most cases just look at rolf in your own example, i know for a fact most his rp was from dropping st+stormlord abilities in zergs and on bridges. Doesnt mean he automaticlly is good at his class
Likewise for most classes seeing as you can now get rps simply by hiding in a keep (illustrated by the guy on the US servers who lvled by camping keeps alone)
A good rr2 zerker is better than a good rr5 sav, the dmg cap is the only real thing that seperates a rr5 from a rr2. Even then the difference is minor.
Saying that the fact you chose a un-toa'd char over a toa'd one was a mistake your grp

not exactly true chron, rolf was about rr7 before toa even hit.
he used to solo alot in odins also...

and even today the majority of rr6 + cha's were rr5 pre nf. and yes thier are some rr pl'ed cha's out thier, thats uavoideble. basicly for me it's about running with people i know, and i know play well, so yes agian givin the choice of a new rr2-4 zerk i've never seen and a rr5+ sav i've played with before and know dose a good job i will take the sav, this was the same issue in Nf just the other way around..poeople taking untoad rr3 savs over rr6 zerks..silly if you ask me

and last but not least i'll ofc always take a friend over anyone no matter class or rr
