Can't help you there in any other wya then, bouncers job ain't that swell as it seems.

Paid by the amount of people coming in, no steady work/pay, have to work in several places to make even ends meet. Police on the other hand needs schooling and many fail that part for the lack of brain or brawn(sp?).

I'd go for copsies if i had to choose.

Well between copper and bouncer only 1 could be said to be a "career" job.

i can tell you if you wanna be a bouncer or venue security (or both) you need to pass a training course. costs a couple hundred quid, plus you need to buy stab proof vests and a uniform. wages range from £8.50 an hour and up.

if u wanna be a bouncer u need to get into an agency but yeah most just seem to work all the time. they are training 'community officers' at uni at the moment and its funny watching them run around with the farmer kids.

it is really hard to get into police, u just have to keep applying and training and be lucky. think u can apply through the website

depends what level of training you have. get trained for everything and you dont need to stand and check ID all night.

bouncers in my club rotate about the place.

I was a doorman during my college years. Best job ever! £50 notes a night, a case of ale to take home and a guaranteed shag at the end of the night and because all the customers were drunk, there was never any trouble we couldnt handle. That said, I wouldnt of liked to be a doorman in a city centre

aye depends on your location, i was at college with a guy who worked as a doorman and tbh theres no way i'd feel happy about a friend of mine doing it its bloody dangerous and theyre not covered as much as policemen in respect of how much they can defend themselves without being open to being arrested themselves.

I've done door work before. Used to work for a security firm and worked at a nightclub on the door. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and I'm a 3rd dan in juijitsu and 6'7" tall. It aint a glamorous job, and in fact can be potentially lethal. Gotta watch your back the whole time, and that includes going home when the night's over. There have been numerous stories of doormen getting their heads smashed in with claw hammers after the club shuts cos someone took a disliking to being refused entrance or chucked out. These days, with guns being so easy to get hold of.....don't do it IMO

haha I know a door man who works at a pub in town, absolutely tough as nails, then his daughter was doing a beauty course so he goes and gets a full nail thingy, waxing etc and some face pack thing legend.

Me: " but i don't want to learn that, just get to the offence part so i don't have to fall down at all"

Teacher: "oh heavens no, first you must learn how to fall down, without breaking anything.."

Me:" BUT I HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF FALLING DOWN WHATSOEVER!"

Teacher: "Well sorry but thats how its gonna be"

Me:" OK i'm out of here, screw this.."

Tryd teakwando a few weeks later..

Teacher: "ok guys, the first rules on how to fall down properly are..."

Me: " FFS <vomit>"

i'm verry aware on how it is in the "real world" but that wasn't why i wanted to pick up juijitsu..
I can stand my man perfectly fine without any of the fancy moves, but i just wanted to do a bit of sport, and maybe learn something while doing so..
Only "falling down properly" was not really on my to do list..

Ah ! Juijitsu isn't a sport. Its self-defence. I've been telling people that for 15 years lol
