I got ultima III on some disk from one of my USA contacts in 1986 on the old 64 - and have not been the same since ! I went out and got Ultima IV from the states for £ 50.00 ( which was alot in them days when all games were a tenna !) the day it came out - and this has to remain for me the best game ever.

Got into all the old SSI games, Questron, Phantasie Series. Alternate Reality & Bards Tale took things up a notch, and the orginal pool of radiance was a blast too.

quite a few more I could mention, but its late :)

well you asked me so here i am ;)

Used to love all my old spectrum 48k games (the rubber keyed one), always been a fan of ultima (the games company not the game) like sabre wulf or attic attack, sadly my kids wont ever experience the atmosphere of these classic type of game unless i install a spectrum emulator on my pc, i have tended to steer them clear of online games such as daoc until i deem certain hairless ape type players have all moved onto more kiddie type games like Zelda or Sonic ;)

Nope, had a c64 also and an atari ST some while after then bought an Amiga (sigh @ those days), just out of all of them i preferred the spectrum for its downright colour leakage and poor sound :p and out of the amiga and atari the atari won hands down despite being an inferior machine :/

Shame that the third one was so lame.

As for early PC games, Star Control 2 is my fave, some people have even redone it with vocals. <grin>

The best imo where the adventure games on my old MSX2. The odd part being they only where in japanese. Makes it alot more challenging ;p

Also have good memories of MSX1 (taping radio shows in the middle of the night who send out a program for the msx) and my vic20 (predecessor of the C64.

Never got really into the C64. Skipped it and went for amiga
