It's lineage 2 with less grind and new graphics... fun for a weekend, nothing i would pay for.
It has some things it does very well, and quite a few annoying bits... the beta community sucked beyond what i thought was possible...

I'd say that describes the graphical style. The gameplay though I'd say is more like a cross of daoc and wow. the pvp looks like having a similar flow to daoc, with the seperate "frontier" and the keep taking and such, and combat styles are similar, in that you have the positionals, reactionals and chains. Casting is more like wow, in that you can cast while being attacked.
Has a lot more questing than lineage 2, so you don't spend nearly as much time just killing mob after mob after mob. Leads you through quests in different areas, a lot like wow, you cover some quests, and then one will lead you to a new area to get more quests.

Will be on the Perento server as quite frankly Spatalos is going to be severely overpopulated from the information I have been able to gather.

Team Conclave will be rolling there on headstart; mostly old people from prydwen and excalibur (and from there, mostly from Midgard).

If you don't care for the physical box and included stuff, Best MMORPGs and Online RPG Games by NCsoft or steam. Digital versions. (plaync.com being ncsoft's official site).

I bought mine through Steam. Downloaded it and then found I could not run it through Steam as they do not authorise the use of Gameguard. I installed the NCSoft launcher, set the patcher to US or EU and downloaded 3gb.

Now if I want to run the game I just use NCSoft. Steam probably still blocks Gameguard.
