any linux users?

Hi Ive just installed linux on my laptop, a little project into trying to learn it really as it will be useful to know. Ive got ubuntu 7.10 desktop edition on, and basically im trying to learn my way around, how to install files, connecting to wireless net (wired works but wireless being a pain for some reason, i think its wireless drivers but not sure). I was wondering if anyone is availible on msn or something to answer my questions i have while im using it, offer advice on what programs to get compared to windows stuff, and other related unix issues.

e.g. /etc/network/interfaces contains your IP details

you cant access su by default on ubuntu (password is not set, you have to sudo to manually set it)
