I'm Hoping some Kind soul may be able to help me out with a problem I have at work.

I work for an IT and Secretarial training company, and as we are now VERY short staffed, I have had some advertising bumpf dropped onto my lap, and really am stuck!!

So any help would REALLY be greatly appreciated (note the desperation here) from any of you with any artistic skill.

The problem is this... I have to come up with a slogan and advert to go onto the hoardings outside the local tube stations in our area, I have 4 days to come up with something and get copy sent off. (the ads are about 1.5 metres square)

I have several good Photos but i'm terrible at coming up with slogans and such like, as you can tell from my best effort so far "Get off the Tube and Train" or "Get a Career TRACK"

So if any one can help i would probably bow down to you forever, but mostly likely offer you a pint.

You may of course also get to see you slogan around the tube stations......

You don't have to go underground to get you're IT future on track

Get out from the underground to make you're next move into IT

Don't get stuck on a bad TRAINing ride, call us now for a full timetable

I think your first one is alright. It's just a slogan for your average bloke on the street, you're not trying for a Pulitzer. :p

"Get your career back on the rails"

"Choo Choo Choose us, for your employer!"

"Do you have the locomotivation? Then consider a career in IT!"

It's harder than it sounds. :/

I think focussing on the whole train/subway thing is a bit of a mistake. You don't hire staff for rail of subways do you?

I'd go for something pretty simple and basic and avoid puns. Done the following after grabbing some low quality graphics from your companies website. Can they not do something? Who's printing the advert? Have they not got a design service? Have you just to come up with the advertising copy or are you expected to supply them with print ready artwork?

As I said, I'd stick with basic stuff: Nice photo of someone young, healthy and happy looking in an office environment, your companies logo and contact details and a big bold bit of text. No puns about subways.

I know you said avoid Train links but never mind.....

Get Trained

Spend your life ABOVE ground, get trained.

Mind the skills gap

If everyone had Pitman training you’d be about to board a tube of Smarties

I'd say you need a large bold simple shape to draw attention to it (I'm assuming it's a busy thoroughfair). Two colours. Dark blue background (pitman logo blue), with a solid red circle insert that almost fills the 1.5M sq. At the top of the red circle, put the logo - couple of lines of text and you're done. Memorable already and it doesn't exist.

Pitman training (logo)
IT Training (or, IT Skills Training, or, IT Training Specialists)
Call:0702-XXX-XXX (or, www.pitman-training.com)

The problem isn't just coming up with a good advert, you've basically been asked to project your company's image without knowing what that is. Is the website atypical of your company's image? Does your company have a corporate identity or brand that you should adhere to? We've got an 80-page "guideline" which lists everything down to the smallest detail for accurately reproducing posters, leaflets, etc.

I suppose if you want to make it a bit gimmicky, advertise that you do Red Dot training in small print at the bottom (if you do).

:)
