In terms of tapping, this always amazes me (i am bassists, so sue me ). I was shown this by a collegue who is an exceptionally good bassist whilst he was showing me some of the more interesting techniques out there.

Speaking of strange instruments, one I quite liked and read about a while ago is a Chapman Stick.

Ah bugger

However, there has been a couple of rare instruments played at Cambridge Folk Festival that I know of, one was a Glass harmonica, which apparently there are only 2 actual working ones in the UK and about 5 working in the world.

They sound incredible I might add.

Im keeping an eye out for a stick player also, have seen some sitar players around which sound incredible also.

Will make sure to keep my eyes out for other such appearances.

Cambridge folk festival is amazing for unknown talent popping up.
