Well, as the DoD liason and a CS admin (busy fucker aint I ?) I can't wait for something to happen.
Ive tried BY, and the choke is poor, plus the admins are super-wankers and there are loads of TK'ers.
I've tried Jolt, the servers I quite like, though most of them are 12 limit and therefore its sometimes difficult to get on. Also , they dont have voice comms for cs ,which is rubbish. Maybe because they tend to be populated by abusive 12 year olds, and the squeaking might damage something .
We even have our own KEA server, but the service we get from the suppliers is absolutely rubbish, Im just about sick of it tbh.
Incidently, although the KEA server often lags horrendously for no reason, its very often full, which I can only imagine means there are more punters than servers, as half the time I wouldnt play on that server if they paid me, which is ironic considering I PAID THEM !
Please come back BW, we fucking miss you :/

I remember when you had to freaking get gamespy/ase/whatever you use, to keep on retrying to get on a server cos it was always full

OK, I hear there's grumbling in the ranks, and accusations about GAME treating you all like mushrooms etc. etc. The team can only tell you so much and Baz, Bif, Tony and even Ted are only allowed to tell you so much before I have them ritually flogged (I think Ted quite likes the flogging part...), but, believe me, we don't want to try your patience.
At a time when other services are introducing their subs services, I'm sure you'll understand if we don't tell you exactly what we're up to, but suffice to say, it's all in hand and 'soon' doesn't mean years and months, it means weeks and days. There are still things we need to do, but we're in 'tweaking' mode now. We have a date that we're all working balls out to hit, and barring an earthquake in the Bracknell area (which under normal circumstances would be a GOOD thing) we WILL hit our target and you good people will hopefully see the benefits soon after.
Finally, when we DO launch, we intend to make sure that, you, our most loyal subscribers are suitably rewarded. More on that anon.

Not strictly free. There were those of us who used the 0845 for plain old internet access too. A percentage of the money we pay to BT went to BW. I reckon most people ended up paying a good deal more than 12 quid a year back then. I certainly did.

In the early days I also used the BW dialup, later switching to an unmetered dialup when they started, oh the good old days
Agreed I have probably used more value than I have paid for, but there does come a point at which a service has no value. To me atm BW has no value. The servers are empty, and these forums are going tits up thanks to a handful of fuckwits, and I have no use for the "extras" that subs gets you. I really am not looking for a refund, but at this point will not renew.
The "suits" comments though give us some hope I guess. I live in a commercial world, that moves fast and treats customers openly. I guess I have come to expect the same from my suppliers.
