If your cat is acting disturbed - just keep an eye on it for a few days and make sure Bracken goes nowhere near it.... he has certain "tendencies" when it comes to showing his affection to animals....

I was reading somewhere its bad to mix dry and wet food for a cat, that once a cat is settled on a certain type you shouldnt change.

Haven't heard that but changing food can upset their stomach the same as it does with babies and small children.

Most vets I've spoken to recommend a mix of wet/biscuits but the biscuits aren't the same as dry food. You usually add the biscuits so they have something solid to help with the tartar (spelling?) on their teeth.

Once I switched over to IAMS I never gave them wet food from a tin again, they would get tuna fish once a week and, as Caleen said, cooked chicken.
My little girl cat also used to love baked beans, she'd lick the tomato sauce off and then eat the bean and both my cats loved cheese.

My poor cat was feral for its first year. Taken in by an old lady who couldnt cope so stuck it in the cats home. I should have shares in elasterplast or something for the times he has scratched me when getting over excited by the dangling bit of string attached to my hand :)

What makes me feel really crap is when the cat bolts at any sharp sound, he'll be eating his dinner happily but if i get a carrier bag out of the kitchen he hears the noise and whoooosh - gone.

Same when theres a knock at the door, he runs off to hide, poor thing :(

Excuse the shitty camera on my phone

notice how he sleeps with an eye open too.

Aye, my little girl is skittish like that, which is odd because when I got her as a kitten she was such a fierce little thing.

I think it was cos the guy I used to live with (share a house rather than in the Biblical sense) used to shout at her when she was pouncing around.

She's with my ex-mother-in-law now because I've moved back up North and my flat is right on a road in the middle of town and has no garden and she would be stuck locked in all the time.

Miss her something awful though, she's seven now and I've had her from being eight weeks old.

She also does that whole kneeding thing like when kittens are feeding because she lost her mother when she was only 5 weeks old and so didn't get weened properly.

Well, cats are cool, but cat like dogs are cooler.

Nothing like a mixer sleeping on the back of a sofa.

Anyway, Thorwyn cut your balls off and see how you like your food :D

Just reminds me of an old sketch on a Jack Dee show, where hes talking about putting up a new bookcase on the wall, his family pets (a cat and dog) are sat down watching him as he worked.

Dog : Wow ... look at my master.... aint he clever... thats the best bookshelf in the world ... hes so great.

Cat : You need to use rawl plugs on that, or the whole lot will come down.

Sums up the mentality perfectly :) cats rule !

11. Cats always land on their feet. Dogs just won't let you throw
them.

10. Cats let you kick them when you're stressed out.

will get some pics this weekend when i go home, both my cats live with my mum. both from pet rescue, one of them has some issues, she wont let anyone except me pick her up, and she doesnt know how to get on someones knee, its quite sad when she sits watching the other cat sit on your knee, she knows she can but she is scared of it, if i pick her up and put her on my knee she will only stay on for about 10 seconds.

Right.. tomorrow is "the day"!

During the easter holidays, I accidentally found that my cat has inflammations in her mouth (gingival) on at least 2 different spots/teeth. I spoke to the vet and - well - tomorrow I`ll take her to him and let him check this out. They probably need an operation to fix it.

Ditto. Also, might be worth thinking about swapping to IAMS or something similar, it helps a lot with gingivitis and other mouth (tartar) type things.

Just came back from the vet. Cat was asleep until recently, she´s now slowly waking up, crawling through the room like a ferret on dope. She even peed on the floor while standing inside the catbox with 3 of her legs, missing the box by a few inches. :D

IAMS is this kind of fresh meat food setup?
