Out of curiosity, would like to know whether ar there any Asian players around ... and which part of Asia u from. So far have not come across any, other than myself and a few RL frns that played together.

To answer the question:

No, no Asian players here - only xenophobes

To answer the question seriously:

If you do happen to be Korean then there is a Korean version. The web site's quite cute - all their GMs bow to you (I presume those are their GMs).

If you're not Korean then I guess some people play here in Europe and some play on the US servers. I suggest you look at the web sites of both versions at your peak playing time and see which servers are more populated.
