Doing a project in college where I need to find definitions for all the features in 3D studio max. Im struggling with a few, mainly;

Standard Primitives
Extended primitves
Lathing
Lofting.

Links would be helpful :)

How long definitions?

Wiki should help atleast.

Been using max since ages, haven't used it in a couple of years, but still.

Or type lathe/lothe and add 3ds on youtube. Has a couple of tutorials.

What exactly do you need?
Those are all pretty basic functions. Depending on which version of Max you´re using, you can always start the "help" function. If it´s a version > 6, the tutorials are quite good.

Well... thing is it´s pretty hard to make a definition for something you just know.
Sure, lathing is spinning a shape around an axis, thereby creating a new object... but I`m not sure that´s a. sufficient and b. what he wants to hear.

Thorwyn, to use lathe (a modifier) you'll need a spline first unless I'm mistaken.

Lofting can be used to create a tube out from a line (spline). I have no idea how to explain the functions more, so I would struggle just as much as you do Thadius.
