I started playing CS again after a month break cos of all the cheats out there, when I heard that Barrysworld had incorporated anti-cheat software. I have to say that compared to 90% of other public servers, u can be sure of a cheatless game on Barrysworld now. Well done guys, let's hope others do the same and evil bastard cheaters disappear from all public servers.

First time I'd played for a little while... saw a blatant cheat running riot on a BW CS public server tonight.

I found a bug in this anti cheat software

before i start, i dont cheat :E, i dont even play CS, i play TFC, just i didn;t want to get kick and banned on a TFC server cuz my excuse would just be "BS u cheat, bannage from leagues and stuff". i quit CS beta 4/5 ish.

i played on a server last night, and got totally 0wned, this server was runnign anti cheat software and me being myself, thought a few ppl were cheating.


I left the game, looked for sum hax to keep up to date with how cheaters work (i been into this for a while, recording demos of cheaters, getting em banned (not for CS tho)).

I found wat looked like a good no recoil script. Downloaded it, looked at the configs, very techinical!.

Anyway, installed it and went on a BW server. Played a map, getting a good score, "No Kick".

Loaded up next map, played a bit more "no kick"

Then i typed retry.


i rejoined the server, and within 10 seconds, i was kicked by cheat software?

Why didn't b4 on the other maps, and only when i typed retry did it kick me. This is a bad thing, because i prolly could of played for loads more maps without being kicked. Its a scary thought, many cheaters could still be out there using this kind of cheat and yet no one is going to question the cheat software.


and i say again, i dont cheat or play CS, so plz dont flame me for my experiments.

What cheat was it? Perhaps it's code was undetectable until you typed 'retry'? Perhaps it was a hand from 'God' letting you ownz for a bit :)

Anyways, I'm back on CS, and am very happy! I'm shit, but that don't matter now... no cheats on the five servers I played on last couple of hours and far less accusations / spamming of 'CHEAT!'...

Ah happy days.

ps. Jobs, you gonna be my floormat bwoy!;)

Right as stated by me in a comment for my column:

Having done a little looking around I`ve realised that the latest version (6.13) has now surpassed the Jedi plugin for admin mod and many other anti cheat programs. No doubt this will be countered by the anti cheat programs only to be passed again by the cheaters.

I updated the anti-cheat stuff yesterday - let me know how it goes. I'm particularly interested to knowi f you see anyone getting kicked.

Hmm I saw a blatent cheat leave the server about a minute after joining.

I dont know if he was kicked or just left.

No lag now, playability is great.

I noticed that playing with him yesterday.

But both Embatlle and Smeg were maoning at me for flashing them, when it wasnt even my fault :p

Is it possible that the banning of cheaters can be made more obvious, with a bigger message on screen? Or in the console. ''suchandsuch' left the game' isn't conclusive. ''suchandsuch' was cheating and got banned' would be more informative.

Also, y is it so hard to kick players and vote new maps?

Unfortunately I can't install the cheat stuff on the admins server just yet :/ There's a technical problem to overcome first.

Funny, when I see someone get banned (which has happened a lot) I get a bright green message saying "PlayerX has been kicked for using cheatY" ad then some stuff bout one kick at a time. Right in the middle of the screen.

Do you have the cs help system turned on then? I get the purple message, but not the green one.

Actually, couldn't we all see a giant leather boot drop from the sky, and WHACK the cheater up the arse, outta the map? That would be fantastic.

Thing is both times I flashed was because I got "bumped" by another player hitting me.

Was an appalingly low level of play on that server.

WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE FRENCH GUYS/GALS THAT SEEM TO HAVE THE LATEST CHEATS THAT GET PAST ALL THE ANTI-CHEAT SOFTWARE!?

Gawd damn it, for once I'd like to see a cheat on a server who isn't French.

Is it their culture? Do they learn how to do it in school?

WELL?! :(
