Another ASE convert!

its really quick innit?
just one thing,when i try to load my retail version of counterstrike it trys to exec from halflife,as at the moment its in a sub-directory of half life.any ideas how to fix this anyone?

throdgrain, just right click on the Counterstrike icon, then select custom config. You should be able to put in your own command line then.

XQF Owns ASE

What's XQF?

ASE is brilliant, except for the lack of retail CS support. I've emailed them about it but no reply.

The only way is to do the custom config thang as described above, but then all the CS maps appear in red on the list because ASE can't find them. A minor quibble but easily sorted by the ASE peeps. I'm gonna download the mod version just to get round this.

Best way I've found is to stop playing CS and concentrate on Day of Defeat.

well been using ase all day today and i must admit its really very good. i shall prolly keep using it in favour of gspy,if only cos its got rtcw on it and gpsy hasnt.
i got no problem with the retail cs thing now i been helped out by SoWat.thanks again mate!

if ASE is sooo good, then why cant it find half the servers GS3D can? and why did the servers it did find gave me a 500+ ping, whereas through GS3D they are ~40-50

XQF Is a linux server browser which is rather like GS3D. It uses qstat, so it querys servers like GS does rather than GSArcade/ASE, but for some reason i find it alot faster than GS3D(GS would lock up when i tried to refresh several thousand servers at one time on a 56k, XQF does all of em in less than 5 mins ).

Or, after a bit of thought, you might have your default scanner located in the states. If you don't know what this means, read the first section of the manual, which explains all.
