might be wrong, but i think mass and frictions does cancel eachother, just that the picture you get from a breaking car vs a breaking truck is wrong, as the friction-area of the car is not proportional to the area of the truck.

if the truck weights 10 times more then the car, and would have a 10times larger contactspace with the road, it would stop at the same time/length.

Aye for the purpose of your spread sheet let m not make a difference but just make a note somewhere saying the kinematics proves it does so you can bring it up with you tutor.

Haven't read all the other posts so sorry if this is repeating what has already been said - whoever told you the mass mattered is wrong, all that matters is how fast the car is travelling. To put it basically thats why the figures given in the highway code book don't change depending on what car you drive...
