Annoying Mouse Problem

I need to disable the forward and back (Side) buttons on a intellimouse.

Basically, there is no intellimouse software installed on these machines and installing it is not an option. By default IE seems to interperate the side buttons as backwards and forwards which is causes some problems with a web app we run. (Reposting of data and the such)

Basically I need some way of diasabling these buttons via the registry. simply ripping them out is not an option either.

Has to be sorted by 3 o'clock tomorrow. 500 PCs, not really an option I want to consider
