Annoying HL Desktop.....HELP !!!!

Since having updated to the new HL1.1.1.0. patch i keep getting the HL Desktop appearing whenever i hit my F1 key. I wouldn't mind but i have this key bound to a team message. I have checked my TFC config and other configs in the HL folder and i can't see where this gremlin is coming from. Does anyone have any ideas ? :rolleyes:

I too am getting this problem, not sure why and not sure wot to do abt it, so if anyone has a solution pls ?

I backedup my config file b4 executing the new patch and then reinstalled it after but still no joy......even tried re-binding the F1 key through the console.:(

Just been to another forum and it would appear that the F1 and F2 keys have been hard coded to facilitate such things as Tracker and the new Demo Player when it comes out.

ohhh, when i was on Nuke Earlier, it said something like "Unable to initiate UITracker.dll" so maybe i disabled it coz my Buy Config has all the "f" keys binded

btw, are you the [Prometheus] who sometimes plays on the BW Servers?

Yep. Its been installed for the soon to be tracker.

If you want your F1 and F2 keys back do the following

Go to your Half-Life or CS retail directory, open the valve subdirectory, and then the cl_dlls subdir. Rename the GameUI.dll to something else, like GameUI.bak.

Just asked [prometheus] how his CS problem was and he had no idea what I was on about, said he hasn't posted on BW for years, so its safe to say it isn't THE prom(who I quite like now):D

heh, ch3tan, you beat me to it, i was just going to say that,

remember when prom was a 56ker all he ever did was moan about us lpbs :)
