Well as some of you may or may not know she is the women's top golfer and has been invited to play on the colonial tournament(part of the pga tour)

It will be interesting to see how she matches up to the men but...

Like Vijay singh said, shouldn't she have to qualify like everybody else? Because of her there is one less person who has "earned" there right to play this event

Yes she should...

but Vijay went a bit further than that, saying stuff like "if I'm drawn against her I'll pull out" and stuff. Which was a bit ridiculous. He then did a backpeddle of epic proportions and claimed he was just misunderstood.

Its about bloody time to be perfectly honest, and Laura Davies should have had a stab at qualifying for the British Open when she was playing great too.

Bear in mind also that Anneka will be giving up an almost guarunteed payday this week to have a stab at this Tourney too, so let her go for it.

I hope she secures the last place above the cut, and knocks Vijay out. The blokes against it are just afraid of being made to look stupid is all.

She has a very good chance to do very well (her stroke average is under Tiger's), but in the interests of fairness, she should have to qualify, and should have to play off the men's tees like everyone else.


I just kinda hope she doesn't do well, cos it will start all the feminists up again about how women should be allowed to join Augusta and the R&A.

Of course she is playing off the mens tees.

She was also given an invitation to take part in the tournament, which doesn't mean that there are any less qualifiers in the tourney. All tournaments use a few invitations to get well known faces into them, usually exciting youngsters, or ageing stars who otherwise wouldn't be there. It helps to bolster the spectators on the first couple of days.

It's actually proving to be a pretty popular move among most people in the game, and they're now urging the crowd to go easy on the players who objected to it, and not give them too hard a time.

I think she'll do ok, alright she will be one of the shorter hitters off the tee, but she'll be in the top percentage of fairways hit, and her short game is fantastic. So long as her long iron shots hold up under the pressure, I can easily see her in the money on Sunday.

Around even par probably, bit early to say though.

Annika Sorenstam has ruled out the possibility of playing another men's event after missing the cut at the PGA Colonial event in Texas.
The 32-year-old Swede failed to make the weekend's action after carding a four-over 74 to miss the halfway cut by four strokes at five over par.

Ah well, at least she played better than Vijay "I like my women barefoot and pregnant running my corner shop" Singh would've likely done.

She didnt finish last, she did ok, and wasnt too far off the cut.
