I say we just let the Scots decide if they want to be part of the UK or not then move on - the current system is stupid - devolution was just a cop out.

I dont think the majority of Scots do want to leave the UK just the nationalists get a disproportionate amount of coverage.

I think it would be a big blow to all parties if Scotland left the union but they must be free to choose - same for Wales and NI if they like.

Then the south-east can seccede from the rest of the UK and laugh

Most of the support for the Assembly comes from the desire to let directly elected officials make the rules rather than a few centrally appointed individuals with little knowledge of the region or it's people i.e the old Welsh office and the "Minister For Wales".

The old system was, well, rather colonial.

The average opinion here atm is in favour of the Assembly with limited powers, but against a full Parliament with full law making powers.

I'm still of the opinion that a regional Assembly system would be a good thing for England.

I don't think you'll hear massive cries for independence from us any time soon, well at least until we find diamonds, oil or the price of coal goes through the roof, it's a shock I know but most of us like you silly English... but don't tell anyone I told you.

Trem I can't stand the attitude you have displayed there. Listened to it all day from people wanting Murray to loose yesterday. Tennis does not recognise Scotland / Wales / England / NI as seperate bodies, therefore we have British players competing.

On a personal level, I'm not too bothered about the 'if he was English playing in Scotland' arguement. I like him, so I support him. I don't see how him being proud to be Scottish makes him hate being British.

It's funny how he's kinda old news already. The BBC cut off after 10mins and sky sports showed the score and moved on. some other programms i flicked on to hardly touched him. If he won it wouldve been all over the BBC for hours.
