It's the great fork. Had to happen at some point. Tablets != phones and quite right too. I dont want some compromise, I want a specific set of tools for my device that are appropriate.
That does look rather nice, a android OS clearly made for larger screens. GReaper, it's not an assumption - watch the video. The OS as it is there is not suitable for phones.
I'm just waiting for more news from an official source (yes, they eventually republished the video and put it on the Google Mobile blog).
Everyone has jumped on various bits of Android news fairly quickly - which is why I'm cautious. We've already had a bunch of news sites which spread the "news" that Honeycomb requires dual core, something which Google eventually denied.
