Medieval TW2 was very disapointing, I've been a massive fan since Shogun, but for me the pinnacle was Rome TW.

The weak AI in MTW2 was the biggest let down although the battles are good the game is far too easy. There`s some decent mods out to make it tougher but the AI is still a walk over. If you like strategy empire building games I can`t see how you could fail to like it but everyone has an opinion

Anyway new game sounds fun a nice change hopefully

Well it's a good point. But to my mind, slavery was in integral part of empire building which seems the point of the game and bound to be included somehow. In WW2 games, the afaik focus tends to be purely on the fighting/stratergy which is not particularly contraversial and ignore the holocaust (not like there's games where advancement of the german faction involves building gaschambers etc...).

Just started a new compaign using a mod called The longest road. It`s 900 turns long as opposed to 225 and is much harder. The AI is cleverer and money is much much tighter definately recommend it. Also the AI buys better units, puts better armies together and uses better formations in battles.

no but the Nazis used their prisoners to make other things, that helped a certain someone to build his empire..

longest road is good, as is "Stainless Steel"

as for the slavery stuff, people tend to forget that slavery is already IN MTW2, as an abstract merchant resource

Funny, i just discovered this mod too just 4-5 days ago! Economy is much harder indeed. I find it a little too easy to ally with other factions though. It seems the AI gets overwhelmed with joy as soon as you offer an alliance (at least in the beginning of the game before you've been excommunicated for the first time), so you can easily get map info included in the deal too, every time. Also, it's VERY easy to ally with the Papal State. I think I like that though, as opposed to greasing them with money each turn to stay in good favour.

Other than the minor diplomacy issues, I like the mod and for the first time find M2TW interesting. One thing i like is how the AI uses catapults rather effectively and such and how much i hate them! Er.. did that make sense?
