I need cheering up.
I was happily on the way home last night after finishing work late (again) and got a call about 7pm to say our route to Africa had gone down. Okay, so this happens occasionally. I make a few calls and get someone on site to reset the switch. Unfortunately the fault doesn't go away.
Meanwhile, Damini's trying to ring me to tell me she nearly finished cooking a lovely chinese dinner and "where was i"?
So I get in, still on the phone to Africa, the US, to people in the UK etc etc.
I manage to put the phone down for a short while before the food got too cold and started to tuck in to some lovely chinese food. I'd gotten about 10 minutes into eating and not really eaten that much apart from some duck pancakes when the phone went again.
By the time I'd finished chasing people again, the chinese was all cold and dried out and microwaving it would have just fucked it up even more. So I sulked.
More phone calls.
Eventually I grab another spare few minutes and manage to eat some tinned soup (woohoo! -not).
The problem is still not resolved and it's coming up to 1am. I've been on the phone since 7pm and Damini's looking severely bored / tired / ill (cold).
At 1 am the people we need to sort stuff out in Africa are in bed so there's nothing to do but wait until the morning.
So I get up at 5:50am to catch the train to London.
I've been on the phone all day trying to chase engineers to get the feckin problem sorted.
Still no joy. It's nearly 5:20 and the problem's still not fixed and I'm sitting in the office working late, again. I was hoping to leave the office around 3pm today cos of working so late yesterday. But no.
No one is even close to figuring out what the problem is.
Bastards.
Amuse me....please???
