No, this isn't a thread about friendly fire (haha).

I downloaded this game the other day, it's multiplayer only and very realistic. Like a mix of Operation Flashpoint and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. The greatest thing about it is that it's free!

www.americasarmy.com Link is there, go to the downloads section. It's good if you like this sort of thing, if you don't, then don't download it because I don't want you crying to me when you have just downloaded a 600 Meg file and you hate the game.

Much more realistic. The yanks use it to train their own army.

Well, I teamkill quite a lot on it so I can see where the problem is.

yeah its good. :) And i do think that the game can be used to educate IRL marines because of the real-life like realism in it. I played it for a few months.. that game requires skillz so i went back to daoc after getting my ass kicked so damn much.

IMO it is the best tactical shooter game out there. v realistic.. almost too realistic :> i prefer shooters like Quake3. :D

Can you play terrorists to? Because i really dont want to insult myself by even pretending to be a part of american warfare.

Oh btw "Tactical Ops" > Any other fps game...exept maybe Battlefield 1942.

Nah, it's a strange system really. As it's a training program for American forces, the other team sees you as terrorists but you see yourself and your teammates as the American army and visa verca. It's ok when you get used to it.

Anyway, I downloaded the game about a year ago and thought that it sucked great big donkey balls.

I wasted 3 hours of my life downloading and trying out that game. I feel it is my duty to make sure that nobody else makes that same mistake.

Now I have just wasted 20 seconds of my life typing this post.

Hmmm, now that I think about it.. Invading defenseless countries does sound amusing. But the thought of being shot by one of my own men was always in the back of my mind.

I find America's Army quite entertaining for now, it's quite an ok game if you're playing with people who don't think they're playing Quake XVII American edition and instead actually creep around not getting shot in the first 20 seconds. Plus it being a free game is always a bonus for someone in my income bracket :p
