Always Walks Never Runs

When i play CS now and then.....my bloke will just walk like i am holding shift down when i am not. i have to escape the map and then resume and it will be ok for 5 mins...but then the same will happen again..

its really getting on my tits.......

I get a problem very occasionally where I get stuck in crouch...I find mad thumping of the keyboard in the general area of my crouch/stand toggle, run/walk toggle, manual walk, and manual crouch keys tends to fix it

I get the same thing, walk key (shift) becomes locked. The key is not phyisically stuck down, just in software (?). Best thing to do is bring down your console and press a few number keys while hitting your walk key, as soon as the numbers stop appearing as symbols in your console you know u can run again.

I have found certain parts fo certain maps haev repeated crouch problems.

** Traditionally, on 747, crouching in the stairwell inside the plane between the cockpit and facing down into the first class compartment. Crouch goes nuts there and causes it to become stuck.

** Since 1.1, on estate, if you go through the main entrance as a CT into the garden, but go directly right behind the hedge, then crouch at the end of the hedge lookin out...crouching has gone mental there too. It's like someone is standing on your head and you can't stand up, so you have to bounce around like a beachball to get free.

I h8 to say it but.. i got the intellimouse explorer too, i dont have the crouch problem, i think its a problem with the 4th and 5th mouse buttons and the intellipoint software.

When u use the 4th and 5th buttons along with keyboard keys u are asking for trouble.

I got my walk and crouch buttons on a toggle and they work fine 90% of the time. Occassionaly it gets stuck but its never really bad. Have never had a walk sticking prob tho.

It's crap when you run up to a corner and intend stopping 'coz you know there's someone there, then the movement sticks and you end up charging around

the crouch bug should be fixed in the next update 1.2..

Wrong crounch bug corny, we are talking about the keyboard/mouse keys sticking for no apperent reason. The crouchbug fix in 1.2 will be the crouchin hitbox bugs i.e nothing to do with what this topic is about.

I've got the same problem - every now and again I find myself running in a direction - forward, back, left, right - and I can't stop it. Bloody annoying when you're waiting behind a crate and all of a sudden you rush out with your mp5 and a surprised look on your face. The enemy usually say "wtf?!" as four of them hose me down. Grrr.

Maybe I'll try to kill the "Intellipoint" icon in the system tray before I launch HL. That might do the trick.
