20 odd light years, round the corner in galactic terms :)

Not somewhere that we could ever travel with today's understanding of physics. It would take bending space or a wormhole (which there are theories on) to get there.

Bro just threw a good comment; "Bet, if we DO find another earth, especially conquarable earth, we'd "suddenly" invent hyperdrives." :D

Awesome :)

I'm still a bit annoyed when they say stuff like "it's too hot to support life".
They mean too hot to support HUMAN life.

How do they know what life it could be supporting? maybe some sort of Asbestos based lifeform?! Alright, not a serious example, but hopefully people understand.

Just what I was thinking, we find life in places on this planet which most people would consider to "not be able to support life" if it was on another planet. Still, would be cool to have another planet to majorly fuck up, instead of just this one.

They have but they have always been huge, in most cases bigger than Jupiter.

I meant these specific planets mentioned in the article and im right, they have known about them for years. Maybe they just know a bit more about them.
