Allied Assault multiplayer demo this Friday

This should prolly go in the appropriate forum, but nobody goes in there and this has general interest. *dig*

The Medal of Honour: Allied Assault multiplayer demo is released this Friday in preparation for a 22 January general release and 1 February UK release.

Single-player demo is due 1 January but would appear to be available only in Electronics Boutique, Software Etc, Babbages and on some US coverdisk. Presumably you'll be able to download it later. I dunno...

Time will tell but judging by year-old videos this game is set to be a RtCW beater - plus it doesn't have any monsters/aliens/zombies in it. Just good, old-fashioned Germans. :) Looks to me like a very polished Day of Defeat.

Here's a screenie which I've carefully chosen to reveal very little about the actual game.

Looks purdy. Let's hope it's harder than RTCW.

except the original medal of honour has been around longer and looked good for its time and format.

I have more info, seeing as this thread's been bumped to the top. :p

GameSpot have said that
Electronic Arts will be releasing a multiplayer demo of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault in time for the weekend. That demo will have one deathmatch map, Stalingrad.
They've also said that
Stalingrad's commune housing level design is cramped to be sure, but its tight quarters will ensure that you'll never be searching for anyone to kill.
Personally, I'm dead chuffed that Stalingrad is the demo having been interested in that area during the war for some time. It worries me that they say 'deathmatch'. Elsewhere in the preview they differentiate between Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch so it looks as though the demo may not feature any team-play. :( That depresses me. :(

I disagree. I think it looks better than RtCW, though admittedly I'm only going by screenies, the RtCW MP demo and videos.

It's weird, but in the Allied Assault forum a few months back I started a thread called 'Not looking as good as RtCW, is it?' :) I've changed my mind since then.

Here's another screeny for yers.

It's there. And it's beautiful. And if it plays well it might just be a game I might buy and like :)

I'VE PLAYED IT!!!!!¬!¬!!!!!

It's shit. :(

Waaaay too laggy (I click my fire button, a second latter... I fire - okay if hosting own) and the display 'flickers' under DirectX. There is no OpenGL option.

It's slow, the map is rubbish. Two five-storey buildings facing each other, a small courtyard, lots of windows. Shite.

I'm scouring the web hoping that my technical issues can be resolved...

:(

The map is shit but the netcode doesn't feel too bad to me. I am on cable, though.
