Do you think(question not fingerwaving) that your taxes would change even if big corpo would pay reasonable and fair taxes?

Ireland's laws for taxation and book keeping are more akin to the Bahamas than to the rest of Europe :). Why do you think most of the worlds Aircraft Lessors were based in Dublin, depreciation accountancy rates are about the best in the world.

And despite all that Google etc. still don't pony up the cash in Ireland; they move it Holland and then on to Bermuda because the Bermuda holding company charges Google Ireland "fees" that guess what? wipe out most of the profit they make in Europe. So instead of a profit of nearly €1.8bn in Ireland in 2011 (on turnover of €10.1bn), they made a profit of just 15.3 million. All perfectly legal of course, but still rotten to the core.

The Tax system has bigger holes than the corp tax - anyone notice the tax changes for REITs in the budget - Real Estate Investment Trusts.

Basically if you own a load of property you can turn it into one of these and never pay corporation tax as long as you return at least 90% of the profits to the shareholders. Clearly the rich love it as the Tory chancellor just made it tax free for these REITs to invest in each other - cracking :p

Edit - combine that with non-dom status and you can pay zero corp/income tax yet have millions coming in
