Ok, great song and I have versions by Dylan, Hendrix and also Dave Matthews from Woodstock 1999 but I am looking for recommendations on other people that have covered it. There seem to have been dozens of bands that have covered the song over the last 30 odd years and quite a few have murdered it so please help me track down any decent versions

Well best version I could find is by Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush.. Its quite decent with the guitar.. Still, theres no one like Jimmy

I heard a great version a couple of years back, it was much more of a hard rock sound than Jimmy and if anything the vocals sounded alot better as well but I will be damned if I can find out who did it.

U2 did a good version on Rattle and Hum. Not quite as good as Jimi's but pretty good nonetheless.

Jimi Hendrix is the best by a mile, that I've heard. The intro is incredible.
