Ive just come into £2200 to buy a new computer.

Now.. i want a lap top to do college work at my part time job. BUT i also want to play DAOC ( duh) I dont really play that many other games. but i do ( or will) be playing daoc ALOT. I also download alot of music etc.

NOW

I dont think i have the ability to build my own computer .. let alone a lap top.

And i think the alienware lap top looks ( i hate this word) **bling**

But will it run daoc super fast.. fast or will it lag as its a lap top.

www.alienware.co.uk

Take a look. Advise is soo welcome its untrue. I was just gonna buy the laptop but .. i thought id look to the community on Bw.. err FW for some advise.

Heh, I crack me up. Anyway buy a cheap laptop to just do college work and save the extra money. Think long term for once.

Look at the Dell Inspiron 8600, you'll be able to get an awesome laptop from them for the money, cheaper than Alienware too.

If you need a hand picking the exact spec, let us know.

Never had an alianware myself but from what i heard they make a nice kit.
However you pay alot extra for the logo and the looks.
If those kind of things are important to you, alienware is a good option, otherwise look at some off the offerings of the big manufacturers (dell, toshiba, sony, ibm)

Great thing about nice computers like laptops is that for the first 6 months, they are excellent. Then, the feeling of euphoria is swiftly replaced by sickness as you see how much it has depreciated in value by.

Moral - don't buy expensive stuff unless you're rich, or need it for work

Buy a very thin/light lappie for college work, and a computer for DAOC.

But, if you want an expensive laptop... Don't buy from alienware. You can get much the same for alot cheaper elsewhere.
