this true? spent ages arguing with my teacher. he claims his laptop goes through idle cycles so thus it isnt doing anyhting.......

Its the processor that uses a idle cycle to do stuff when it isn't doing stuff. If you see what I mean
Hard disks have moving parts - hence wear out faster. Kinda worrying as my machine has been running 24/7 for nearly 2 years. But then again the HD isn't made by IBM
