The Weyland Corp may have discovered the pyramid was for predators and taken guns for that , as that would fit in with predator 1 & 2, but this may have been the first discovery of the existence of aliens.

The only example I can think of Aliens not attacking an infected human was Alien 3 when Riply was carrying a queen, which may be a SPECIAL case. If the predator was carrying a run of the mill Alien the Aliens may well just see the imminent danger the pred poses and deal with that. After all they did sacrifice one of themselves in Alien 4 to escape the training chamber.

Also Predator anatomy may well be different and the incubation occur elsewhere so that could explain the survival of the parasite, though I too am puzzled why the preds didnt scan their fallen comrade.

I thought the film was a bit cheesy at the begining but once in the pyramid I thought it was very good and much better than Alien 4

maybe the predators did scan him and did know there was one inside. It might be why they left him laying on a table and not shot out into space or buried, they do after all live for the hunt (or so it would seem).

I guess thats a part of the film where we are left to use our imagination and make our own minds up as to what happened.

Nah, this is one of the many plot holes, nothing more.

I think it was stated before the release of AvP that sequals for predator, Alien and AvP2 all rested on the success of AvP.......

I think AvP was made for 80 million, not sure how much it has made since release but it will probly hinge on that...

This film was one of the worst films I have watched!! I wouldnt even watch it if it was shown on TV.

What made me laugh was the "ice navigator lady" uses her Compass watch as they enter the chamber underneath the Scrifice Chamber and then says "We're here" while standing in front of the green glowing rod they threw down from the chamber above. I'm surprised any of them lasted at all tbh.

Film was watchable once only and is a complete waste of a fantastic idea. I agree that studio execs can get in the way of a film being made, for example; Alien 3 was beset by the well thought and inspired argument "why does it have to have so many British guys in it?" and the test audiences for it where a bunch Californian surf kids and college drop outs (apparantly).
That gives you an idea of the sort of intelligence that exists in studio boardrooms.

However, this does not excuse a badly directed and plot holed film that wasn't very good at all. Paul Anderson needs to be shot in the face for the good of future film making.

PS: The Alien Queen attacking the Pred host. In Alien 3, the bog standard Alien doesn't attack Ripley because she is host to a QUEEN alien. That would then make sense of the Alien Queen attacking the Pred given that he's only hosting a normal(ish) Alien.

The other plot holes are all true and terrible.

I thought the bit at the end was so they could carry on with the hunt, after all, they did just destroy their training place so theyd have to go carry it on somewhere else.

"The man I am writing about is not famous. It may be that he never will be. It may be that when his life at last comes to an end he will leave no more trace of his sojourn on earth than a stone thrown into a river leaves on the surface of the water. But it may be that the way of life that he has chosen for himself and the peculiar strength and sweetness of his character may have an ever-growing influence over his fellow men so that, long after his death perhaps, it may be realized that there lived in this age a very remarkable creature."

It wasn't too bad. Alien for the masses tbh. No dialogue, no plot, just a bollocks excuse to use some sfx from the bucket.

I quite liked the ending though (not the gay chest bit right at the end),
fighting with the queen was quite good, although the predator shouldn't have died tbh
