alcatel usb on intel system

I get the problem where my usb modem switches itself off too but mine's an intel system. p3-1gig on abit be6-ii with win98 (not se). i'm on the alcatel drivers that came on the cd in the box. gonna try enabling/disabling 'assign irq for usb' tonight. any other ideas ?

oops. not gonna try it tonight after all. forgot i'm off away. make that sunday. any ideas still ? :)

i think what you need is an externally powered usb hub thing.

should cost around.. well i dunno. 50 squid ish

mine cost 70, but ive had that for over a year or so now, so i guess the price might have come down.

Right then.

Getting my ADSL install on 22nd may and WILL NOT let anything spoil it..........soooooooo

What USB hubs are peeps using - theres a couple I can get - mostly Belkin - but dont wanna get one that no one can honestly say works.........cheapest is better. Only need a 4 way.

Just phoned Openworld to double check installation and they've now told me that theres no ADSL at the exchange. But the engineers still coming round me house. A DAY EARLIER than I'd originally arranged.

Still - I need a USB Hub - so cough up Athlon (and P3) users !!
