the dexys album you're after is:
Don't Stand Me Down: Director's Cut

I dont think it's on the original release of 'Dont Stand Me Down' so make sure you get the re-mastered one.

I don't have it though :/

Other ones;

Alkaline Trio - From Here to Infirmary

Eve 6 - Horrorscope / Its All in Your Head

RHCP - By The Way

GreenDay - Dookie

A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step

After rediscovering this album, I'd like to add this to my list;

Loaded, the Velvet Underground album. Is the first song on tha album not "Who loves the Sun?" You think thats a a good song??

Only just saw this reply - in short, YES. I think it's a marvellous song :) Loaded I have included because I can listen to the record in one stretch (well, two, turning records over is a bitch), and enjoy the whole goddarned thing.. :) I always thought that was a really strong track from the album. (And I agree on Sweet Jane being an all-time favourite, too).

Only two votes for Pet Sounds so far though? The fuck!?

Hmph. The only track you could maybe criticise is Sloop John B, but that isn't even a duff track, just not in keeping with the rest of the album, mood-wise :(

Another vote for Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon here. It wasn't for nothing it spent a gazillion years in the album charts. Even now, it's hard to believe it was made in '74. I bought this on the first day of it's release and I reckon I've bought about 6 copies in various formats since.

Genesis - Trick of the Tail is also an album without a bum track. It was their first album without Peter Gabriel, and I can remember the raging arguments over whether it was as good as previous albums. As it turned out, it was excellent... it just took us a while to get used to the 'new' Genesis style.

Perfect albums, hmmmmmm. Not many of them if they have to be 100% good. Anyways.

Nirvana - Nevermind and In Utero
Pixies - Surfer Rosa and Bossanova (i hated Silver on Doolittle)
The Strokes - Is This It (too parfect maybe :) )
Air - 10000hz Legend (Awesome)
Nation Of Ulysses - 13 Point Program to Destroy America

Too hard, theres a few duff tracks on loads of my other albums but i dare say i prefer them over the ones i just mentioned

Pearl Jam - Ten
Pearl Jam - Vs
Counting Crows - August and Everything After
Counting Crows - Recovering the Satellites
Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine
Morcheeba - Morcheeba

The main reason I get into bands is down to mostly faultless debut albums.

Sorry, i have NO idea how you can class this as faultless, it's full of flaws, tunless, directionless and really really dull.

Their live album 2 disk set however, that is great. They really changed a lot of their songs of this album, into decent melodies/tunes, the decent(if slightly Teeny angsty dawsons creeky). I have August...and their Live album, I don't listen to them much anymore, but I hardly EVER listen to their Debut album because their Live one trounces it.

and how many people here do you think have heard Pet Sounds? Let alone own it.

Pet Sounds is undeniably a ground breaking album, stunning in pretty much every way.

how many times have you listened to it?

It took me a long time to realise how amazing it was. Like 6 months of listening to it once a week.

I have listened to it countless times since I was about 10 years old. It was one of the only albums I played when growing up.

Helps when your dad has a decent taste in music.

I have it, but it rarely gets played.

Certainly mood music imo, and the mood you need to be in is rarely achieved by me :)

Dont Cry is a beautiful song for sure and so are a few others but infortunately its overplayed by my local radio station in its entirety.

Certainly prefer them over the beatles :)

also (in my opinion, it all depends on what Genre of music you enjoy listening to)

I'd add Black Sails in the Sunset by Afi.

Gorrilaz, by, funnily enough, Gorrilaz. No duff tracks on there imo. Also Homogenic & Post by Bjork.

Oh and La Folie by The Stranglers.

I've had this LP for as long as I can remember (inherited a fairly big record collection) and haven't even got around to listening to it.. Maybe I should.
