When i read BW whines-helping-gratz's etc etc..

I sometime feel myself embarrased to be an alb, no offense to albs cause i would feel the same if i were mid or hib..

I get the feeling sometimes that 80% of the BW popultation haven't passed the age of 12...

This is RvR discussion.. why is 99% of the threads i see here, whines about something totally irrelevant or a grats to guildmate for dinging rrXXXXX ?

Its very rare i stumble upon a thread where RvR is discussed, instead of just ppl flaming each other..

Just a little opinion outburst..

Feel free to flame, comment etc etc..

Couldnt care less anyway :)

Have a nice day all of you....and go have some fun with this game instead of depressin yourself with nonsense flames and whines...

there's really not much to discuss about RvR - it's very shallow at the moment, run around emain solo, grouped or in a zerg.

Find enemies, die to them or kill them. There's not a huge amount of strategy involved (there are tactics that are are generally known... specific routes to take, a lot of the tactics is in the group makeup - hitting the right buttons quickly, using assist... that's kinda the limit of it )

So, people discuss which "overpowering" abilities they dislike the most, which groups are doing the best at including these abilities (since a lot of abilities are otherwise useless... lack of variety of RvR = lack of variety of groups, if you only have one situation to deal with why bother making a flexible group)

Emain is more like Magic the Gathering - it's how you stack your deck against the enemy, a little bit of how to play - need to know what your cards do, and a fair shot of luck too :)

Now someone take those Black Lotuses off of realm X ;)

Dig a little deeper and you'll soon find out underneath every grats thread is a rvr discussion consisting of little gems such as:

FOTM noob, Cry more..... Nerf midgard...................... Ebayer.............................. givDFnurf

There is no point in having a discussion about RvR, most people are too stupid or too stubborn anyway. Also its more fun to flame, as that is really the only thing people are capable of giving feedback on.

no offence - but you have no idea how magic the gathering is working. "stacking" a deck is actually illegal and usually results in a game loss or even ejection from the tournament if detected (technically its failure to sufficently randomize your deck). "playing the metagame" and deciding on your deck and sideboard may be important, and it sure is very important to self-styled strategy sites in the internet, but its a pretty minor part compared to actually playing the game. there is one basic rule: if you make ONE mistake in a game, you usually will loose against an opponent who plays flawless. even if its a favorable matchup for you. even if you have the supersecret sideboard tech.

while your knowledge of MtG (r) may be small, the analogy holds true for DAOC: if you play with substandard cards, you will have a hard time winning, same with substandard characters/group setups. if you dont practice, you will have a hard time winning against a field of players who do. but even if you have the "perfect" deck or "perfect" fotm group, you will loose to seemingly random decks or groups if you are not playing flawlessly.

the difference between Magic and DAOC is ofc teh moneh and teh fame. while the best players in Magic win thousands of $$ and every noob worships them, the best you can get in DAOC is about 300 $ on ebay and a flamethread on barrywhine.

And ofcourse the more money you spend on Magic, the better your chances. Reason nr. 1 why I quit that and went to play Vampire - The Masquerade, which is in every aspect a better game than Magic ( ;

Mine was mostly wasted on GURPS, Warhammer FRPG, ad&d, Shadowrun, Vampire the masquerade, SW the rpg, In Nomine and a handful of obscure rpgs I can't even remember now :D

Oh and clubbing most the 7 days of a week, ah how poor I was!

Now I work and am a dad, don't miss it, honest!
