Albs! Do you have honour?? And thx to a ceratin Hib in Caledonia

From a Mid point of view:

I have been playing for nearly a year now and i have 4-5 char's that have been to Thid, 3 which have been to Caledonia, 2 of which are still there, my question is:

Do you Alb's ever try to solo with honour instead of just running off to get backup and then ganking a single enemy realm with a FG?

I have been in groups of Mids that once spotting a single enemy realm player have sent in one Mid from their grp to duel and if that player loses then maybe a gank, can't we make the BG's a more friendly and enjoyable experience instead of ending up taking names and trying for revenge?

Virtually every Hib i have met and solo'd (seeing as they don't seem to visit BG's often) has given a bow/salute/curtsey, and i try to do the same in return no matter what Realm they belong to.

Fair enough that keep takes and FG vs FG battles you can't really do these things, but 1 on 1 is a different matter.

I have seen only 2-3 Albs in my whole time of BG playing actually give bow/courtsey to a member of the opposite realm for a good duel, i always try to be curtious and nice about what i do, all i have seen from Albs except the odd few is: GANK! /rude, /laugh, /dance (on corpse) and other mocking emotes. It's just plain rude and just makes you look even more like a childish and immature realm!

I personnaly think that the Alb's are the worst realm for this attitude and should take themselves into the corner and give themselves a stern talking to about manners and the CoC.

That's my 2 cents worth, if anyone can tell me of their general views on BG conduct i'd be grateful (no personnal flames plz).


P.S. I would like to say a thank you to Pucha (Hib) in Caledonia, you are one of the very few people i have met that seems to hold the same values as i. Helping me when i was in trouble was the most noble thing i have seen in the BG's from an enemy realm (even if i did die). Whatever char i use i will try to return the favour.

I have played alb, I have played Hib, I have played mid (and all on excal. They all have their fair share of morons and they all have their fair share of soloers who are looking for decent fights etc.

If you want honourable fights you picked the wrong server.

Over-generalising, i doubt it.

When these things are a regular occurance from 75%+ of a ceratin Realm i don't think that i am over-generalising, when every time i have been to BG's be it BG1 or BG3 these things i speak of has happened, and generally around the time scools kick out (strange co-incidence??)

I've spent some time trying the other realms on Pryd, and still have the same opinion, way too many in-imaginatiove school kids who chose Alb coz it's the bit in the history books that most people recognise.

I made a Friar in Alb and most people i grp'd with i asked age out of curiosity, i ralerly met anyone over 16!

I must admit yes, that most realms have thier share of these people, but Alb seems to be saturated in them.

personaly I hate it when I get ANY emote of any kind on my body when Im dead, and if I see that person dead or kill him later on I will emote back to try a piss him off /wave and /shrug are my favourites aswell at playing the drum while standing on hes head cause I stomp my feet a bit when I do that

Yer right, what have you been on?

In all the times with all of my chars that have been in thid, if i've ever come across a FG of mids, they have all charged down at me.

Paladin
Wizard
Theurgist
Infiltraitor

I've even with my infil, unstealthed right next to a group, /beckoned a tank, and then had the whole group charge after me several times

As Alb is really the only other realm in the BG's that ganks this was generally aimed at them, i know already that not all of you are like that, but the majority i have met are.
I'm not claiming to be any sort of veteran to this game or RvR either, but when i play my char's i like to have a bit of fun, but lets face it, being ganked over and over is not fun.
I'll also admit the fact that i have noticed that Mids do Gank aswell, i'm not saying all us Mids are perfect gentelmen/women, but it seems to be a less often occurance.
I do altho have more of an issue with the offensive emotes, if i see my realm mates doing it i tend to avoid grping with them in future as it's one true sign of their maturity.

Ok this was a bit of a whinge and i was very pissed off at the time of writing the original post due to being ganked, offensive emote spammed and back on pad within 1 min of getting into BG several times over and spent most my evening waiting for gothi's, but my main aim of the post was to let anyone know out there that i'm not one of these people and if you see any of my char's out there i'd be glad to solo you, my favourite times for playing in the BG's would be early evening, so keep an aye out for me.


P.S. I didn't flame in any of my posts about anyone 'Sucking' or otherwise, so no need for offensive replies thx.

Fighting, is fighting. You don't bow when your about to fight you don't bow to show the enemy your location. You use every advantage you have, that's like asking a infilitrator not to use stealth just because you think it's dishonourable.

You seem to have completely miss-read the post and my point, the /bow comes AFTER the fight FOR a good duel, instead of the /laugh, /dance, /rude like usual, i never said anything about before or during the fight in that respect.

I tend to always bow or salute after a good fight as a mark of respect,and yes its annoying at times when 10 other ppl get involved ina 1v1 fight.Had a good 1v1 going against another saracen stealther with my SB Drazar,we were knocking the crap outa each other,he was red con but im a shadow zerk so was pretty even, i was just ahead when bang 6 others join in.Why they couldnt have watched the fight and finished me off at the end i dont know,i dont mind if i smack a caster or summat cause they need protecting and i expect a good hiding,but comon guys i was sooo near death in the duel anyways i was no threat and there was no other mids for miles around.If two even chars are scrapping leave them to it i say and kill the enemy after if he wins.

I take offense that because I am Alb I am considered to be 16 or under.....I am in a guild where we have shared info on each other....we often field a FG in BG3....and not a single person is under 18 !...most in their 20's and some in their 30's.

We act 'honourably' as you say, mostly FG wandering looking for other FG's....which we rarely find....all realms zerg....and Alb is bad...but the others are no better....in BG3 we only ever see mids really....hibs make the sporadic showing, when they do they cannot usually field more than 1.5FG so they can't zerg by definition.....but in full RvR I rarely find in the groups I go with that we can isolate other FG's wandering...they are rare....coz ALL REALMs ZERG.

Its life in DOAC.....if you don't like it find another game....but don't try and insult others with generalisations as it only shows the immaturity of the person posting !

I always show respect to those that deserve it e.g. if they used good tactics, or played fair.... if they used bad tactics or got on my nerves then i will /cry /dance.

It's not meant to be a fight of honour, it's RvR, RvR is in no way designed to be honourable.

Oh and i've often had mids AND hibs do the same thing to me that you're criticising.

I agree with Warhawk...
I think everybody should play the game however he wants. If you take ingame emotes personal then you should learn to seperate virtual and reality. This is a role playing game and though most are not into that there's no point in being upset about an emote or rude strategies. Of course it can be anoying to be killed every 5 Minutes by a fg if you're alone, but that's something you have to deal with.
To say that a realm is childish and rude because of doing emotes or "Zerging", THAT is rude because you offend the players real personality without knowing them.
If you'd change realms you'd probably realize that the people that killed you every night are people you could be good friends with. OK there are people who are true morons but well nothing is perfect.
Keep smiling, this game is about to entertain you not to make you sick of stress.
And don't judge people by their playing style =)

Actually I did change realms, I played a cleric and a scout to bg0 and capped them both. I wont be going back.

Albion is the worst realm for organisation, 90% of the time there is no cg, everyone wants to group but just for the rps, groups never act as a group should, but instead solo. Finally if you are insane enough to play between the hours of 4 and 6 on a weekday you'll meet the most unpleasant, stupid and arrogant children you will EVER meet in this game.

If we weren't meant to /rude in RvR it should not have been added, instead we should have been restricted to /mourn.

If people want to do certain emotes let them.

All realms are exactly the same for charging with their army. If you want 1 vs 1 fights so bad, send a comment to the programmers to add a Jedi-Knight feature where as you can go into one. Otherwise please do not tell other players what they can and can't do.

Everyone plays this game for fun, you can't exactly do anything else but.
Because we all play for fun we don't expect to be flamed on a public forum for not "doing the right thing".
Don't contradict yourself.

What he said. And please stop banging on about Albs in the BG. You cant reallly blame albs because of the lack of interest in the BG's in other realms. Its the same on prydwen also in that bg0/1 are swamped by albs so you notice the so call 'alb zergs'. Alot of people go there to get their first realm abilities so theyre bound to be rp horny. Personally i really dont care about honour, u win whatever way you can (short of cheating). This is a video game not handbags at 10 paces.
Ive seen about 8 characters through bg1 to 3 and theres just as many pratts in other realms as alb.
