As i will be one of those that prolly move to the classic servers when they get here i was thinking about different setups and would like to hear different views about this subjects by EU peeps, preferably whom those who played on US. (no vnboard links though if poss)
If this was posted here, gib link and ignore this one :)

i had 2 setups basically with changing one spot only

cleric, cleric, paladin, sorceror, theurgist, merc, merc

and the question is the last spot really:

merc - obviously, more melee dmg in assist on a server where light tanks will be the fotm
reaver - for interrupts, slam in ma train, levi dmg is nice, af debuff, rr5 etc
cabalist - for disease-nearsight- rr5 pet, debuff self/4sorc, mainly for utility
arms - 2h dmg - slam - extra defense if needed
friar - sists - assist - some healing power - RA-s
Well discuss ! :)

Go for the reaver, a 2nd guard would be very usefull for the amount of time youll be in darkspire.

how do you plan on buffing a full group with only 2 clerics?

well when NS ran on US, we did:
cleric cleric theurg cabby sorc merc merc pally..

and 2 clerics buff a fg just fine(unless you do thrust mercs, and can live without spec AF buff) both clerics were 43 so red int, wich is really a must if you want casters to be decent dmg dealers :)

EDIT: cabby is more important than theurg btw, imo :) NS > all

id go for the caba, NS was hard as hell to meet on Lamorak just b/c they ns'ed our support

And we ran with, skald, shaman, 2 healers, BD, savage 2 bers - And sometimes 1 bers and a second shaman, still very hard to face such alb grp when they have some rr's :)

Disease > all on classic server, no perfector group disease heal. So go with whatever class has disease on Alb.

Cleric Cleric Merc Merc Pally Theurg(earth spec for decent interupts) Cabby Sorc.

That is by far the greatest alb setup on a classic server.

well no spec af on tanks (-3 buffs + they can use some item with af charge on it if it gets hot), no dex on mercenaries (-2 buffs), mabeh can drop base con aswell as ppl aint going for alb tanks first usually (-3 buffs again). So its not impossible, its abit more complicated for shaman imo :)

with 2 clerics with abit of acuity cap, we could give this to our alb grp on classic:

mercs: red basestr, yellow str/con, yellow dex/qui, red basecon
pally: red basestr, yellow str/con, yellow dex/qui, red basecon, red basedex
clercs, red basecon, yellow str/con, yellow dex/qui, red basedex
casters: red int, yellow str/con, yellow dex/quit, red basedex, red basecon

wich gives everything you need, except spec AF, use charges for that and your set :)

personally agree with Dallas, cabby very important in grp setup, NS with ae disease is a lethal combo on a classic server. Can live w/o theurg if decent players.

can always replace theurg with minstrel as your interrupter. yes, obviously, theu pets do a better job of keeping support locked down - but with a minstrel you get speed 5 and sos, which is another ability which is stupidly overpowered on classic.

caba or merc imo. Reaver is not good in set groups without MLs. (and this is also my own experience ^^)

You just cant afford the 3rd buffer imo, the friar isnt a BG on classic they just add their buffs and bad melee damage. You need the cabby becuse dise owns without perfector, you need the mincer becuse sos owns even more without a speedwarp and you need the pally beacuse you need guard in fotm tank land. So you end up with:

Sorc
Cleric
Cleric
Mincer
Pally
Theu
Cabby
Merc

merc only perma damage dealer, wicked :p
Sort of, the cabby is mostly doing damage and the sorc and theu can add damage allot when needed, it all adds up in the end.

The armsman thing could be nice but good luck trying to persuade someone to roll an armsman!
