I finally had enough when 20+ albs ran from 2 middies, at lvl 39 one was green one was red and most the albs were 40+. There is something so terribly wrong with most albions bravery, it seems to be non existant. I never really figured out why we don;t retake our keeps, or why we don't attack as much but i guess its because so many people are scared. Death in RvR is nothing, no xp loss, no item loss nothing so why are 90% of albions absolutly petrified of it?

As it is now we will never become a force in RvR unless you can grow some balls.

Well off to hibernia, lets see if its any better there.

i have noticed this too. whenever i see 15+ albs blue-grey con, i charge ...and mostly of the albs run...and the rest turns up dead ~~

I went to the Alb PK the other day to get a ride back home and there was quite a few orange cons to my 41 on the hill there and I was the only mid in sight. Other Mids (small force at that) were some distance behind the AMG hoping the Albs would come out. The group at the Alb PK was larger than the mids I had seen in Emain heh.

So I'm standing there alone before the PK and only one orange walked down the hill and after he had waved and whatnot at me for some time I lightninged the guy which did some decent damage and he pulled back a ways. Now what I had expected at that point is that a sizable delegation would have come down the hill to pound me into the ground. I mean I wasn't going anywhere. They then came down the hill very slowly and only after what it must have seemed like almost a minute when they must have been 100% absolutely sure no support would be coming a grand total of 3 of them charged me and woohoo killed me The rest was probably changing their underpants because there was 1 scary middie standing below their PK...

I don't know if they are yellow bellies or just overly careful and affraid. They hardly ever take any risk which is a damn shame tbh From my experiences in RvR the Hibs seem to have a lot more balls. I think the Albs underestimate what some guts and confidence in their abilities could do for them.

I think for most middies it's the other way around. It looks like our vision just goes red with bloodlust and charge after any invader on sight. Heck nothing stopped me from charging purps when I was but a wee Thane in Yggdra If you can surprise them you might get lucky Worst thing that can happen is a walk back from your bindstone heh.

Yes actually it will solve the problem for me, albion just isn't for me,we have the numbers to do keep raids yet we don't act, we have enough high level people to win at emain yet we don't, all in all most albions are more interested in killing epic mobs in barfog than defending the realm, we almost always have a keep in enemy hands and that shouldn't happen.

maybe its just me but not everyone in alb is a coward, if you think so then leave, find someplace that you like, otherwise there aint much point in playing.

just yesterday i was outside mid pk on my lonesome, died, coz everyone left and i didnt know heh was pretty damn funny to turn around and everyone had buggered off.

the thing is we have learned allot of midguards tactics when PK camping, and 9 times out of 10 there is at least 2 stealthed bow toting snipers kicking about, and nearly always a bunch of em just over the hill.

many a time i have seen 2 trolls wipe out a squad of about 10 people, so caution is not always a bad thing

i kind of like the horse journey back, gives me time to make a coffee anyways

i spotted the group of albs, around 50 of them, in emain , fearless as i am, i charged them all.

i slaughtered a 20+ albs before the rest of them ran home to thier keep.

with some teamwork u whould have killed me with easy fellow albs.

Some good points made, some bad points too.

Can't agree with your generalistaion Aiges. Too many times in Emain there are soooo many level 25-35 peeps who turn up and seem content to just sit at pk. Now, it's a game and of course people can do what they like to have fun. However, its pretty annoying when these same people start moaning about the fact the 'realm' isn't doing anything (not directed specifically at you Aiges). Get your damn arses levelled so you can actually become a force to be reckoned with !!

Over the last few weeks we've given Mids some damn good kickings in Emain, and I don't mean when we've outnumbered them. As a few points mention, if you die, so what? I've found that being aggressive is the best way to fight. Yes, you might die, but more than likely your force will win or at least take a lot more Mids with you than running away.

Aiges, you whine that albions are more interested in killing epic mobs than rvr'ing. I take this as a lightly disguised insult at SotL seeing as we are the ones who have killed them (apart from ec alliance once). Stop talking crap. SotL have scored over 2.3 Million realm points. Guess what? Thats right, we don't earn realm points in Barfog. I've personally led many keep retakes both as part of a mixed group and also SotL only. Yes, thats right, we were looking for epic mobs and somehow got lost.

If you refer to the 'defence' of Bledmeer that we left then ok, lets deal with that. During the day that keep was occupied mainly by SotL members. There wasn't much activity but later in the afternoon mids started arriving. I led almost 100% SotL groups out into Odins and did some aggressive patrolling killing a lot of Middys and stopping them building up their forces there quite so quick.
We got a call that around 15 mids had started blockading amg so again i led a force that wiped these out.

Now, we'd had a guild raid organised all week with members having logged and arranged their day to attend. If Bledmeer had been part of a 'grand' plan then you can be 100% that we would have stayed to defend. As it was, we decided that our raid should go ahead as the only purpose to defend Bled was for fun and the 'hell of it'.

Many people have whined at this, one person saying our leaving 'cut the numbers of defenders in half'. What the hell is wrong with you people?? If defending Bledmeer was oh so important then why the hell were there only 30 peeps there ? Its about time people stopped whinging and tried doing something for themselves.

The only critcism that I will accept is that apparently not much notice at all was given that SotL people were leaving. That's a fair criticism and one we will take on board should the situation ever arise again.

You call Albions cowards? Well, in my book, the biggest coward going is one that sees a problem and walks away from it rather than have the 'balls' to try and make a difference.

Not everyone can invest the time to make it to level 50, those who can well done but no need to tell other to "go level up", thats like me saying "go make 900 in crafting" to you, would you do it because I said so? no.

I wasn't even aiming at the sotl in my post, i was actually aiming at a few other guilds that are all talk no rvr, they will know who they are. If you feel thats you then so be it, you said it not me. The fact you mentioned the bledmeer thing shows your uneasy with how it reflected on your guild, me i say a guild event organised before the keep raid takes priority, i guess other albs don't see it that way.

This game is quickly going the same way as UO, people won't fight unless they are certain to win. Read my signiture, what fun is there in a certain victory? Albs need to start taking chances, run at that red con hunter 9 times out of 10 he will run instead of shooting you in back as you run like a girl, charge the middies camping the PK or the MG, its more fun to fight and loose than to sit there waving at them.

As it stands the only person most albs will follow into battle is the knight commander at the portal keep.

One of the main reasons Albion seem to get their arses kicked most of the time is that 90% of the Mids rvr'ing are level 50 or not far from it. 75% of Albions in Emain are <40.Like it or not, level IS king in rvr. You say that you'd rather 'go out and rvr where you have fun' yet you are now back on the level treadmill in Hibernia....../em looks confused.

You're quite correct, if you told me to go make 900 in a tradeskill for no particular reason then yes, i would tell you to go to hell. However, my point about people making higher levels was to aid in rvr. Then these same people whine about the lack of success in rvr whilst spending hour upon hour in emain sat staring at mids from pk. So a more accurate comparison would be for you to whine about lack of player crafted items then go rvr rather than spending some time crafting yourself, you see my point?

If you weren't aiming at SotL then I can't understand the point you made in your 2nd post where you clearly say 'we have enough high level people to win at emain yet we don't, all in all most albions are more interested in killing epic mobs in barfog than defending the realm' . As i stated, there has been no-one else killing the epic mobs on a regular basis other than SotL. Maybe you should be a little more careful in how you post your whines in future and try to be a little more accurate. You said it, not me.

If you want to go play Hibernia, that's fine. This is a game afterall and should be played to have fun. No need to try and justify your actions with cheap potshots at the entire realm. If you're gonna moan about incidents, restrict it to the people actually involved. If you're gonna have a go at SotL, be prepared for me to come back with a counter argument. If we screw up, which we do, i'll accept criticism. If i don't feel its justified, i'll tell you so.

I have never had balls and I will hopefully never get them, but i still managed to shake hands with the 4 or 5 purp con middies I took by surprise when they were being secret at our MG. Didn't attack them though, cos that would have been plain stupid, instead i chose to get killed by Apsk (dont tell me you didn't get a little scared of me mighty pet ). I wouldn't say I got an honourable death though, cos I am pretty sure that stepper had just soiled the ground around the area where I chose to place my face.

I've grown very bored of DAoC in the last days. Not only because of GOA's late patching but also because Albion, according to me, lacks realm-community. Everything is about alliance or, even worse, guild. Guild-hunts, guild-raids and so on.

SOTL, being the guild with most 'force' at the moment, do alot of great stuff for albion. I can never feel part of these events tho as it get classed under SOTL-raid or similar (note: best example I could find, sorry SOTL's. Same goes for all guilds and alliances in albion). It's never about Albion retaking a keep - always blaha-alliance or yada-guild.

Yack yack yack, I can still have fun doing casual RvR with my guildies I s'pose but even that gets boring quickly. Account termination eminent :\

Don't go to hib I came from there, only cause Excal is hib too not much point in having both servers dedicated to one realm.

You can get to 50 by just doin a couple of hours when you can in a nice group (if any are about). Yes it will take some time but it will be worth it because I sense you will love the rvr.

I go rvr solo sometimes and on one occasion a purp kobold kicked my arse, do I care, not really. I would have liked to have been out a bit longer but hey ho thats what happens. Sort of my fault for approaching mid mg in emain solo but I would do it again and again and again and again.

Remember this is a game involving people, some are scared little rabbits (I think by their general nature midgard are the exception) and some are charging maniacs thirsty for blood. Some are inbetween the two.

But I do agree we need to build our confidence a little (not mine) but certainly those who are more dubious of nature.

Agreed with the above post, Albion needs one alliance and one voice as Albion.

Was funny to hear mids on mirc saying things like "Albs and relicraid - you must be kidding!" when we did break down all doors on a heavily (npc) guarded keep.

Then the thing with the relic pickup who knows if they would have made it through the middie force at the milegate.

Is there only one guild in Albion, or do the others have so little impact that no-one cares? All I see is SotL this & SotL that.. I'm going to guess that this Pyro person is in this guild mentioned and that they have very little respect and time for the other Albion guilds, am I correct?

He also seems to criticise the alliance they are in, all is not well in Albion apparently. Well well happy days for us Hibs!

There are several guilds, but SOTL would be the one with most highlevel members i think (one of anyways ... yada yada).

My guild is not in the same alliance as SOTL so I wouldn't know about that.

You got one thing right tho - not all is well in albion :> (might add: not all is well on prydwen too since the server seem to dislike us too)

Only the other day, I took a wander around Mid, actually looking for some mobs and a bit of xp. Being bored of the models in Albion, I thought it would make a nice change...

Anyway, I walk up to our wall, pass through and what do I see?

One of OUR wizzies, collapsing to the ground, and a likkle Kobold, just sitting down (probably getting back some Endurance), he cons orange to me, and I guess the odds are in my favour, (he could be wounded, he is CERTAINLY low on endurance) So i think...why not...

Not caring if he has invisible support hiding away, I charge in....

My heart starts to beat, I feel the adreniline start to pump through my veins (no, I mean it!! I'm still new to RvR and find it SO exciting!!)

SPANK, SLICE, etc etc...

1/2 way through the fight (I was winning) guess what...LINKDEAD!!!

NOOOOOOOO I scream at the montior, I kick the PC, I shout loudly as my baby 56k redials to the ISP....

I kick the game back into life, and I appear...No, not at my bindstone, but at the spot i was fighting!!! The kobold had vanished, and as I re-appeared, I saw a few Albs running through the wall gates...

I asked if they saw the fight, and they said they caught the last couple of slices, as the kobbie fell, I vanished...

Also, a few days ago, one of our scouts asked if she could join us in RvR (I think she was lvl 20ish) and so not a problem, you can be our eyes for us that cant hide....

There was a small skirmish near the Middie telekeep in Hib, and a group of about 10/15 purple con (to me) were there, charged us, and I died with no chance of survival.. Celeste, saw this, and, staying stealthed, she walked right into the middle of the mobs, and BANG struck on the purp's. You should have seen the PANIC!!!

The middies, for the first 5/10 seconds were in a state of confusion!! Then they saw Celeste was a grey con to them, and bang took her down in one hit.

Nothing like a bit of self sacrifice for your realm is what I say. Thanks Celeste, you made my night then!!!
