That attitude is exactly what encourages cheating. If you have the proof, submit it. I know I would... I've seen hibbies, middies, albs inside walls, gotten few screenies too, but looking at them afterwards, they don't usually (none yet) have enough info to be considered as proof. Or is an elf inside a wall, not targeted, barely visible good enough? I think not

I'm just getting really tired of people bitching. I mean really, what good does it do to bring this topic here? None. If this person is cheating then let GOA deal with it. As for not reporting it then WHY THE FECK POST ABOUT IT? Posting about it here is NOT gonna stop him from doing it!!!!!! The only way to stop a cheater is to report him to the PROPPER people and let them deal with it, it's thier jobs. The only thing anyone gets from posting shit like this here is yet ANOTHER thread that has no effect on anything.

I can understand peoples frustration about chaeting and bug abuseing but if they don't report it on rightnow then they NO right to post about it here.

This "holier than thou" attitude of somepeople is driving me crazy.
Hibs do it! So fecking what, report it. Mids do it...same thing...report it...albs do it...ok we get the point, report it.

Next time someone decides to post a flame on barryswhine think first, "Have I ever done anything wrong? By mistake or otherwise?" if the answer is even maybe then resist posting about someone else.

Two things: firstly, in the past weeks since GOA started publishing the XML pages and we have been able to see the numbers of active players and characters, the population on Excalibur has been steadily rising. I haven't been watching Prydwen.

Secondly, based on what we saw happen over the years on Ultima Online, EverQuest, Asheron's Call, Diablo II and Anarchy Online, it would seem that aggressively banning cheaters doesn't reduce your subscriber population, it does the opposite. If you adopt a lenient policy towards bug exploiters in particular (see early Anarchy Online in particular for this attitude of, "it's not the cheater's fault for exploiting a bug, it's the dev team's fault for allowing the bug to exist") then your other players become convinced that it's not possible to compete in your game without cheating and they abandon it en masse. Mythic (and GOA) would rather ban one cheater and lose that subscription money than keep him and lose 50 more from people who quit in disgust.

woohoo, I can point out cheaters with a totally clear conscience...well except for the fact I can mezz and that's a cheat according to some.

I don't mean 'if you have chaeted then shut up' I mean that unless you have never done anything wrong...I remeber in my very early days in RvR, before I know what AMG ment, I stood on the roof of a keep...I saw someone else up there and thought...hey cool...I wanna see if I can get up there to...three days later I found out it was cheating cuz I couldn't be hit when standing at that particular posistion. I don't see that as cheating per say, I didn't know any better and no body at that keep said I shouldn't do that. I'm not saying that the person in question didn't know better, but when you start posting here about chaeters it's a bad thing unless you know the intentions of that person and can prove they were trying to cheat.

If the bug exploit is one that makes you unable to be killed by others although you can kill others yourself that IMO is cheating and you should be banned for doing it.

If others can get to you easily and can range kill you then thats not so bad. From what i saw, he was able to be shot at with bolts, arrows and DD attacks.

Hmm true. Hibs probably only invented 99.9% of the exploits but the wall hack stuff etc surely is hib origin. I remember the days all you hibs were abusing the walls in Crim. Including some very familiar names im not gonna mention here. Im not here to ruin someones reputation by calling names and shout ban him for life things.

However cheating is not nice. Uncle Cervie says to the cheater don't do that again.

I was stealthed on the wall at the time.
I thought: why the hell is this guy jumping around like that? He must have been trying to find the "sweetspot" to jump onto the roof. I took a screenshot of him jumping up.

You can still hit him with a bow or bolt while he is up there so I doubt GOA is going to do anything about it......
