Sadly, after sustaining a knee injury in yesterdays hilarious 4-1 win over sunderland, looks like Alan Shearer has played his last game in professional football :(

he'll surely become Newcastle manager one day and he's gonna stay with the club.. but the greatest striker the game has ever known has scored his last goal.

here's a clip of just some of his goals, enjoy :)

ronaldo was good for about 3 years, 5 years ago or so, shearer has been good for about 10 years, good time to retire, still a very good player

This post may seem biased because i support Newcastle, However...

With Rolando, Ronaldinhio and so on... Your going to get some step over, 1-2-1 hop skip jump back flip goal.

With Shearer - He puts the ball in the back of the net and gets the job done.

Alan has been one of the best players the world has seen, Arrogant yes. A prick. Yes. Tough as nails. Yes ;d

A great player and will be missed, Was at the game when he broke the record and the atmosphere was amazing.

Hail Shearer :)

I laughed at this tbh, it reminded me of those jokes in the simpsons;

"Damn, that <insert object hear> had only one day till retirement".

It's not like he's missing out massively with only 3 games left, but it is a shame he won't get a proper send-off from St James'

last match of the season is chelsea.

Im 100% sure he will be brought on in the last 5 minutes of the game, Wheelchair or not :)

He will get the send off then and as i said, Im quite 100% sure it will happen ;d

You should work for channel five doing their football commentary, It seems you are blessed with soccer wisdom.

I myself think Shearer is an arrogant cock but I would not have him any other way. As already mentioned in this post he does what he does which is score goals. You mention Ronaldo who is a good player by all accounts but he does not come close to Shearer. Ronaldo has been up and down with form for years, (granted he always comes good in the World Cup) however Shearer has been scoring goals for years every darn season. Its just a shame he didnt get a few more medals to stick in his cabinet.. you Cant compare him to Ronaldinho because he is not a Forward, he is has more of a free role in Midfield with the ability to support the attack at will.

[17:16] <Aile> mike A hates IRC. 4 Welcome to the Manchester United (FOOTBALL CLUB KENYON, YOU ****) irc chat room. Stinks-of-piss Shearer plays his last game. In the words of jim bowen, "let's have a look at what you could have won!!"'

great player, but the above made me laugh :p

I can't stand the fella. That said though anyone who knows anything about football has to admit that Shearer is top class when it comes to doing his job, people talk about how good Owen is but Shearer was easily on par, 30 goals in 63 games for England is nothing short of astonishing.

Got tickets for the west brom game as well wanted to see him play before he retired :( Dont go to many toon matches. Ah well..
Everyone is saying he is a prick etc but I think he is a nice bloke, met him once when I was around a friends house, was about 14 at the time, and Shearer walks in with my friends dad (who was shearers mate) ..was gobsmacked :D Shook his hand got his autograph and stuff seemed nice enough ;p

Shearer is a great player, one of the best forwarders I saw.

But I prefer Henry or Shevchenko :)
