They always go to Stansted when there's a hijack threat. Its nowhere near as populated around there as Gatwick or Heathrow. There have been a few hijack scares that have landed there.
Passenger on Sky is saying that 2 men kept trying to get into the cockpit, and got uppity when they were asked not to.

That is what had me stumped. Divert a plan which may have a bomb from Manchester to London? Not the other way around as you would expect
