I don't play UT very often as I'm part of a TFC clan

Although I love the game and take time out of TFC from time to time for a spate of UT .

I been a little upset by somthing tho, I played on a server called force9, it was a DM, the game seemed very balanced and every one was fighting like nutters, untill someone joined and began to completely own the server using only 1 gun the sniper riffle I found every shot hit with out fail and instantly, so quick I couldnt move my mouse as fast as he was aiming let alone zoom in .

1 point in this game I was killed by this sniper then as I spawned on the other side of the map he killed me again before I could move, this happened to many others, I have no other option but to assume it was an aim bot user .

All I wanna know is this likely, as I havnt spent as much time in UT so I dont know if things like this are possible ?

I don't know what CSHP is so I don't know if it was being used on the server

It's a cheat protector... well, it tries to be. Filters out pretty much everything aimbot related et al.

As you don't know about it - the server wasn't running, if it was you would have had to download it, and you would have seen a little emblem...

there was a pretty big pileup about that on the cshp boards iirc. but maybe it's been turned on again what do I know. I never play UT anyway heh =P

I know what u feel like, [SCW]MOON, as my last clan match in UT ( i am in |CcK| ) had their whole TEAM have aimbot ( I play CTF Instagib). It was obvious that they were cheating due to the fact they had pings of 350+ yet, over a ten minute match, they had 8 times the score of us put togeher. We did not play the 2nd match...

I do not think CSHP is that good. I still get lamers joining, and that's with version 4r!

Yeh its not good I thought I'd play UT thinking I could get away from all the speed cheats and aim bots from halflife

If u think UT is dying, play CTF instagib on either Severns or Slippy_R4. No cheaters there as my Dad's admin on them! V.good too....

maybe if u'd have posted the supposed 'aimbot's name, it would be easier to tell if it was an aimbot or not. I know many ppl that go on servers just to practice aim, usuing sniper rifle only..i do it myself sometimes and have to just ignore all the "AIMBOT" chants coming from some ppl.

A few things....

CSHP is very effective if you keep up with it. They release a new version, and then after a number of days the cheaters manage to crack it (this gap has become larger recently, some of them are apparently wearying). Then the cheaters have to go and get the aimbot update.

Secondly, severnes always full. Always.

Thirdly, its usually pointless to log the name of an aimbot. Some come on with names like Player4 and TooDrunkToAim, not exactly giveaways huh...

Best way to do it is like www.pornclan.net does
it, it publishes the logs of cheaters. But doesn't publicise the logs as such. Thus if you are a regular player you know where to check the suspects (there is a french player who regularly plays the server who's on there twice...)

But that can be open to abuse. Malicious player can change their name to your name, and then log on with an aimbot. Thus people start accusing you...

well having the name of the person helps because often it is clanned peeps getting accused of being aimbots, even when they are members of top clans, newbies insist it must be an aimbot....so if the person was wearing a clan tag that is recognisable, they are not an aimbot.

Ok this person had just enough time to click the shot let alone aim and maybe zoom in it was in deck16 I spawned and was instantly shot then I respawned in a small gap at the far end facing the sniper riffle and was then instantly killed as I spawned .

Its phisacally imposible to shoot and aim that fast, I'm 99% sure he was using an aim bot

ok, fair enough, it prolly was an aimbot.
just so u know tho, most top snipers dont need to zoom in so can usually hit u instantly, although maybe not as fast as you've described

just make sure you play on well known servers with the latest CSHP and you will be free from aimbots

yes that does sound like a aimbot, server have cshp installed? if not try and gte server admin to install cshp.

i have come accross for aimbots for download on the net and they are really quite nasty (tryed em ofline), but thankfully cshp blocks aimbots

It may not be an aimbot.

I can do multiple headshots to various people without zoom..on face of course..and not spawn sniping either. Just running and shooting.

Its easily done.

There was once several clans

[SkW] [TAD] [-V-] who played on that server & ONLY those clans played there! sum1 in SkW fell out and became [Anti-SkW] they then formed as [dBr] and from dBr a member created [SLY].

That was our home server...i can get a screeny if i could be asked. All players were from those clans.

I can tell you that there is NO CSHP installed...and the last time any admin did anything was when sum1 from [TAD] asked them to change the map cycle and that was November 2000!!

I was VERY VERY suprised to see sum1 mention F9 on here! We stopped playing on it once cos EVERYONE pinging @ over 600 then it got 2 busy for us to call it out home...now..i dunno i havnt been there for ages!

I started UT on that server....my n00bie skills got pissed on each & every time. SUm1 sent me a screeny the other day! I was ashamed & embarassed!
