The Achmed thing was funny the first time I saw it, but...imo...ventriloquists are good for about 8 minutes. After that you start wondering WTF you're doing watching a man talk to his own hand repeating the same gags he did in the first 2 minutes ("I kill you" - yes very funny the first few times, after that, yawn)

i got both his dvd's.. and it's not boring at all.. he's got several famous muppets, and they're all funny.

maybe it's you who can't focus on things longer then 8 minutes (that is not meant in a bad way btw)
