I've just installed the latest version 78 dets and used the coolbits hack to get to the reg settings for refresh rates and noticed a sub-menu I've never seen before which tells me that my OS is only working at AGP 2.0 when the rest is 8.0.

How do I know the true speed and how do I cange the OS setting to be 8.0?

Your AGP rate is different from your AGP version.

The last version of AGP was 3.0, and a rate of 8 is fine.

I dunno why I put on the .0 after the numbers. :twak:

I was wondering why it's showing as 2 X AGP rate in the OS section when it's 8 X in all the others. Is there a way to find out my true rate and see if there's a bottleneck I wasn't previously aware of?

Have you checked the bios? There's normally an option in there for AGP backwards compatibility (as 8x AGP was a bit buggy in early mobo's/graphics cards), this can force your AGP slot to 2x.

Checked and double checked. 8x is enabled in BIOS and Fast Writes enabled.
