AGP card

Hi, wondering if anyone can help - I have a geoforce 4 mx 420 which I need to upgrade (for obvious reasons) - the problem I have is this is a AGP X4 card - the ones I want to upgrade to look like AGP X8 cards. Are the slots the same / compatible?

yes, even if its an AGP 4X slot just means the new card will be running slower than it could be. but it will work never the less, and i wouldnt be surprised if the slot was 8X anyway.
