Interestingly, the music quoted by most of you falls into the category of 'most likely to make you loose your concentration' in a recent experiment-type-thingy, along with Classical Music (?!!?). While Pop Music is the kind that makes you concentrate most on the task at hand. It's actually quite interesting, if I can find the link for it I'll post it.

thats prolly bs from politically correct british MPs, the sorta ppl who are trying to ban rap, rock, metal an video games cos it makes u kill ppl irl etc ;D

Studies has shown that metal music actually makes your concentration better. And what is considered pop music? Britney Spears, Westlife and Backstreet Boys? If I would like to listen to crap like that I would be too busy trying not to commit suicide so that I wouldn't be able to play the game.

And why are they trying to ban classical music? IIRC it was a memory test repeated several times while the music was played to them. Apparently classical stuff induces a trance-like state which causes people to not be able to concentrate.

And yes, Pop is considered to be Britney etc...... the reason it makes you concentrate more on whatever you're doing is because your mind thinks 'noooooooo! must get away! must think about something else!' so when given a task, you concentrate more on that task rather than the music.

That's what I reckon anyway

Classical4tehwin

Handels Water Music works well, as do many Vivaldi or Beethoven pieces, as they are all good climax builders. Then of course, we have Tchaikovsky for Relic Raiding, big sweeping motions to get the heart pounding.

Also, Public Enemy is good, as is NWA, Stetsasonic or The Shamens earlier bits before all that silly Ebeneezer good stuff.

Also, try some real old skool Acid House, such as Housenation, Pump up the volume, French Kiss, VoodooRay, Sex4dayz etc.

Makes a nice break from the usual heavy metal stuff people listen to while gaming, and although i admit it does reduce concentration, it adds a stack to the atmosphere.
