This comment had me laughing my arse off:
" Actually, one shouldn't dismiss the horizontal weapon holding firing stance so readily - clearly as a bullet leaves the barrel it follows a parabolic trajectory. By holding the weapon sideways these knowledgeable and elite soldiers therefore can use the parabola to fire around corners - a huge advantage in urban operations, and far less costly than the complex mirror angle, digital imaging, refractive sight helmet attached technology western armies are attempting to develop.
We have been warned.
Interestingly perhaps ballistic tests have shown a dinghy flotation aid provides more effective protection than the usual bullet deflecting mirror worn around the neck. One for Qinetiq perhaps"
