(This isn't really a whine thread!)

Actually, why is every freaking class/battlegroup I come across french-only, or german-only? Where are all the english players? It freaks me out! NF patched you all to frenchies!

(Okay, that was a minor whine)

Or is everyone soloing?
Or are there just too many sorcerers around? Is it my new dress?

So, please, I don't want to hear the "I can't login"/"too much lagg0r" whines, or the "omgusuk, lolz" QQ (unless it includes at least 3 hugs!). Just.. tell me what you've been doing in NF so far, if you had access, of course.

I'll start. So far I've enjoyed a walk from Castle Sauvage to Caer Benowyc without getting killed or meeting anyone at all. I chased a mid dwarf lagghost all the way to the bottom of the river until I realised I didn't have any breathing pots left. I got 6-hit'd, but was dead after 2 anyway (The extra 4 added because of the lag). I've bought the biggest house available and even took a craftskill for the first time ever! I tried three different specs, have wasted all my RA's at least once. I've formed a group but when we were about to move out I LD'd and couldn't log back in! I've set up a catapult (as a sorcerer, with AE buffs), but no-one wanted to give me any strength buffs so I couldn't set up a treb. I've dueled someone to test lifetap while fully Body specced, but was disappointed because I only did slightly (75 or so) more damage than my normal spec.

NF for the win!
(actually, could all the french and german please log off so the whole Prydwen/Excal community can test it for once? :-o)

Also, FH needs a poking contest! *pokes*

Also!; Do you think if the New Frontiers should be opened via a GoA event on the live servers? What would be a good idea? Avalonian invasion from Mars? Have a big BBQ with the whole server population, ended with a /dance event (yeah right)?

Or, pray to the Gods of Script that they make firework items and put the Frontiers in an eternal night for 1 day, and then party like it's 1999?

we had a excal hib cg going last night, maybe an idea to get anyone form pryd or excal into one cg every night, at least then we can all understand each other

Not really suprising is it that French and German players are like 95% of the server population, they have like 10k people on their servers while prydwen and Excal have 2k max (combined).
I just wished they would let each server test it seperatly(sp?).
Like 1st week the Avalon players then Stonehenge then work down the list of servers, but I guess that would be too big of a trouble.
Or maybe patch each server for 1 week to NF test beta then revert back to normal or something.

NF feels like a big bg1 atm ^^ think the real NF will be more fun.. when (if) they get rid of the lag and when people play their "own" chars.

Wonder why GoA have to do 2 weeks of beta testing if its already been tested in the US and maybe even in a closed GOA beta...bleh wish they would reduce this to one week and have it go live on friday.

Well, that's because the EU servers, billing system and DAoC Server Software is different from the US one, or so they keep telling us. (Which makes sense).

For all we know, Mythic may have fucked up on porting the 1.70 server to a multilingual version that runs on the GoA servers. Maybe. Who knows?

Yes I have seen some of the bugs - well regardless...people going online and roll a stealther+bb wont solve that many of those...methinks the beta should have been sent out to maybe 5000 active player-accounts and keep the rest out of Gorre. I will be leaving my spot on Gorre for someone else...the lag and the problems to just run around and explore/rvr due to the lag wont make me a good beta-tester.

NF beta sucks tbh. ive gotten in the server 3 times today... now i freaking ld'd. cba to log back in.... and ive send 1 bug !! was a funy bug... i died but still walked being dead and mids couldnt attack me well i couldnt do anything either... being ''dead'' and all

Remove the damn frenchies/german people from gorre imo. or make a test server for them

Am I jealous? yes, but at the end of the day we're all human beings and have to live together on this earth in peace and harmony and whining about other countries only causes ill feeling.

Well, so far I've had a blast with NF...
Playing at peak hour on a friday night was a no-go on my 64k ISDN tough, couldn't really do anything
But after 2am things started to get interesting, the lag was gone, more action (maybe because the lag was gone so it was possible to move and actually hit somthing)
Tried playing a wizard for the first time, never tried any RAs so had my first go at those
Was quite fun actually, in a big battle I was left all alone so I could just blast away, but when my power ran out I was going to use mcl but hit moc instead
Ah well...
Been playing a scout, 50lb and tons of stealth is fun
Went back to excal, logged my pally and ran out solo into emain, got owned by fg of rr7+ hibs and decided that I'm looking forward to NF since I enjoy running around solo.
The battlemap is a great thing to I think, makes it possible to get to fighting pretty fast if you don't feel like running around for hours without meeting anyone...

Ah well... Thumbs up for NF is my opinion

I played alot already, friday from 6-11 PM and today from 8-14 AM-PM
seen bugs like no keeps at all, so I can see allies and enemies and guards standing in the air while I can just run through the keeps and kill anything (was very lame bug )
I play a champion and had lots of fun with it already (killed alot of minstrels, stealthers, and other things)
I even took a tower solo when doors were open
had lots of fun already with it, and the fact that you get insta-50, is even better
('cause don't got lvl 50 on my acc)

I just had an insane moment in NF. Half of the group was at Dun Da Behn (I think) and the rest just got killed. Then we took a galleon, and set out to Dun Da Behn (meanwhile the rest of the group got killed). So, once there, we killed 2 mids, 2 hibs, before the hib zerg got to us and killed the rest of my group.

I ran back to the boat with 50% life, and no power and MCL down, I got rooted, so I purged with purge I and jumped into the boat when I could (as you can't jump in boats when under combat, so I hid for 10 secs). I jumped in the boat, and went off but I got chased by a boat and a few swimmers. They nuked me down to 3% life but then they just couldn't get me anymore. It was funny.

I decided to bring MPK a visit. Tried to port too, but, that didn't work.

Though, these bugs have already been reported, so I'll refrain from reporting them, for now.

Agreed! there is alot of french and german people out there, but I did meet alot of english aswell, I even bumped into a couple of guildies there ... I thinks its good playing along french and german or whatever nation these people are from. It adds to the confusion, and believe me, I got confused very easily. But i am glad we all goto try NF before the actural patch arrives Good Luck getting used to it, and Have Lots Of Fun!

Btw i understand that is easier to call us "english players" (the people from prydwen and exc) but calling us brits its too much :eek2: .
I´m sure more of the 50% of excalibur-pryd isn´t from the UK.

I dont want to play in camlann because of overwhelming german and french population who doesnt know how to speak in common tongue in /b (for example).
And its worse in gorre.
