Advice wanted: MCL 2 or ser 3

Hi all,

Im wondering what my next RA will be. Atm I have serenity 2 and MCL 1. 1 want to upgrade one ability, but Im not sure which one.

What will be the mana boost you get from MCL 2? MCL 1 gives me about 25%-30%. So does MCL 2 gives me around 50%? (that would be great cause timer is still only 5 mins).
Or would it be better to get serenity 3, cause i hear there is a big difference between ser 2 and 3 and that ser 3 is really great.

Any advice is welcome

My advice: neither. MCL 2 is not cost-effective, the only reason would be to get it if you're tempted to get Raging Power and then MCL 3 would be better than RP in the long run...

Serenity is basically a downtime killer, 2 should be enough, if you really want/need a better regen, group a mentalist

I used to have serenity 3.

Then I respecced to MCL 1 + purge. Purge was ok, MCL 1 was a BIG disappointment. Running a 6 sec bubble and doing a LOT of ressing means I need a constant regeneration of mana, not 1 that I can use every 5 mins and only restores just enough for another res.

I respecced a second time and picked twf + serenity 2 (and dropped purge; twf pwns purge ). Serenity 2 regenerates mana while running bubble at the same rate I'd normally regenerate mana without bubble. Serenity 3 was noticably quicker, so that's where my next spec points are going. I haven't tried MCL 2, but MCL 1 was a big disappointment.

Btw: I heard serenity 3 equals a bard's mana song 3, and that serenity + bard's song stack (to a max of lvl 6, one higher than max bard song).

Well I've looked at the realm ability list and can't find out exactly how much either skill boosts your mana regen.

I personally, as a Bard (mana regen on tap) would, if I had to choose, go for MCL2, which at moment is MCL 1, mainly so I can get someone back on their feet after a rez and immediately regen my mana.

Hopefully someone will find the exact values somewhere for you so you can decide based on figures

Good Luck deciding though, its been doing my head in for a while, and one respec down, I think I have decided hehe

Edit: I heard it stacks to 6 also, but didnt want to say incase I was wrong

First person ever I hear calling mcl a disappointment! I think it's the best value/cost of all RAs for a mage. with mcl+serenity+pot it only happened one or 2 times that I ran out of power in a situation where i needed more...and it kicks ass after u get ressed (which really happens alot hehe) - there is no need to use anything else than cheapest ress on me.

If a warden runs 6-sec bubble, mana goes down. Sitting down turning it off isn't an option in RvR, and MCL hardly helps long. I don't often get pots in rvr. I praise serenity, because it's basically my own mana song, able to run besides bubble.

For any other mana users, MCL will be more useful, and the 5 minute timer IS a nice touch. MCL 1 still wasn't that impressive though, and serenity 2 sure is.

do you use MCL to its fullest Enscep? Ie: not when you are oom, but use it once every 5 mins (unless you are full mana). I have to say playing a level 50 mage that it really rocks.

Mcl totally Rocks,, Especially on my lvl40 Chanter,, Little tip though,, only use it when u are at 50% Mana then U will gain the most benefit,,

Ive also heard that mana regen is capped at 6,, Most bard/menties have regen 4 so only go to 2 serenity,,

ive heard MCL2 is bugged atm though.. (same with FA2??) so u only get the same as u would get with MCL1 from it.. but i suppose thats fixed in some later patch (if it is a bug )

I just respecced my ra's and dropped serenity. I now have MCL I and i find it far more usefull. However i have nurture 57 so my bubble does not drain my mana without serenity.

I have nurture 55, and my mana gets drained like mad with bubble. I loved serenity 3 and can't wait to get it again ( :

I don't have a high mage class to try any of em, but from what I heard from peeps I grouped with etc MCL seems to kick ass!

Well, I know MCL kicks ass thats why I have it,
but i'm just wondering how much more mana you get from MCL 2 and I dont want to waste a respec for it.
Well, if its true its bugged Im gonna wait anyway till 1.52

I have MCL 2 and either it's bugged or it sucks. I loved MCL 1, but I really can't see much more power coming from MCL 2.
I wish I went for S3, but I am not respeccing to get it, will just get it when I can.

With capped piety, MCL 2, S2 and Acq 2 (plus insta heals), I still manage to run out of power in fights. Damn Hibbies.

I now have 3 bugged RAs topping out at 26 points

Someone somewhere doesn't want me to play my cleric anymore.
